Advice on gaming build to last a while..

So i have a budget of 2 grand and i'm considering this build for a gaming pc that will last me quite a while. (2 grand is my absolute max, kind of few hundred over my ideal budget). I've always had outdated machines and kind of a bucket list thing to have a machine that's more at the top end on release (reasonable top end for normal gamers) I like to play with 2 monitors, one for gaming and one for messing around online checking and watching various things. Any advice on how the proposed build is much appreciated.

Hey, thanks for the reply. My main monitor is the following https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R6YFTYF/ref=dp_cerb_2?th=1 , It's 144hz but can be set to 120/60 hz. My second monitor is just a hitachi 42 inch tv that is 60 hz. I won't be using for streaming I don't think, not too worried about that.I definetly won't be using it for editing. I'll mostly be using for gaming whilst watching youtube, football streams etc on the second monitor.
Thanks

You won't need the 3080, I'm using a 3070 on an ultrawide 1440p 144Hz monitor and it's running things like a dream. You could lower the GPU and put the saved money elsewhere in the build (y)

This is where I'd go with the system (note: you don't actually need an aftermarket cooler with the 5600X, the bundled one will do the job).

yeah I was considering that but it's kind of future proofing with the vram? How is the build apart from that, is the amd5 5600x gonna be fine for watching stuff on other monitor whilst i game? If i went with this build and ordered in the next few days how long would it take to arrive as ofc stock issues with the new gpu's and cpu's?

There's no such thing as future proofing with GPUs, give it 12-18 months and there'll be a new and improved version of everything.

As none of us on the forum work for PCS, we can't give you dates on how long it'll take for your system to be built and shipped. I'd speculate that it probably wouldn't be with you until the new year...

Ah okies, well thank ya for your reply and feedback bud :) It's not future proofing in that sense, it's more in 2-3 yrs time maybe games will require more and more vram and I intend to use this system until the legs fall off it lol. As long as there's no major errors with my build then I think I'll go ahead and get in touch with pcspecialist and see about an estimated delivery time but yeah I kinda expected it to be into Jan. Cheers again

You're welcome (y)

But please note...

You'd normally expect to upgrade your GPU around twice over the 7-10 year lifespan of a system, in order to keep it current. As long as the base build is strong, that's often the only upgrade that is required.

For your system: you need faster RAM, 3200MHz as a minimum. You'd also massively benefit from getting an M.2 drive for your OS. The one I've specced up for you is a much better all rounder.

alright great, i'll take your advice on those things for sure as i'm pretty clueless in that regard. Thank ya for the info
No worries, the 512GB PCS M.2 is fine, you'll really notice the difference in how quickly your PC boots up in comparison to a standard SSD. I've got the Samsung 970 in mine and it takes eight seconds from hitting the power button to me being at my home screen. Blazingly fast drives :D

haha damn, that's insanely fast. I'm on a hdd atm and have never actually used the regular ssd so that's gonna be like light speed for me. Can't wait to get my system, prob will go with your exact build tbh looks pretty awesome. Espec with the info about a good base.

Hey Coop, was just wanting to confirm as im gonna try to get in touch to order your build with them now - did you mean to put 3 storage drives in the build -
1st Storage Drive
1TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 64MB CACHE
1st M.2 SSD Drive
500GB SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 6900MB/R, 5000MB/W)
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD (2000 MB/R, 1100 MB/W)

I did indeed. The Samsung 980 would be your OS and programs drive, so your system would boot up insanely quickly. Then you've got the PCS M.2 as your fast storage for your games (very handy if you're playing something Red Dead 2 that takes forever to load), and the final HDD is for standard storage like photos, music, videos, etc. They gain no benefit from being on an SSD.

The bonus of having the two M.2 drives is that if you need to do a clean install of Windows at any point your games will be safely stored and you won't have to download them all again.

ah great idea! I do actually have red dead since release but have barely played it as it sounds like this pc is about to take off. Thanks again for the info, really appreciated!
