Is that what you currently have?

If so there’s no benefit going over an RTX 4060 and to be honest at the lower end an AMD GPU makes far more sense.

yes, that is what I have at the present time.

I was looking to change the monitor towards the end of the year to a better one.

If I was up updating the monitor to a much better one. is it worth going for the 4070 for the longevity or is the 4060 still good enough for the next 5 years taking into account the other specs?

Thanks for your help SpyderTracks

I wouldn't spec a PC just now for a monitor that's not coming until the end of the year. Far better to get a good system just now that pairs well with your current monitor and keep the savings to put towards a new GPU/Monitor combo at the same time. You'll get more performance per £ at the end of the year for a GPU.

Spending over the odds now will just put you behind the curve when you get a new monitor. No matter what you do you won't get more than a couple of years of top tier gaming. You will always need to upgrade the GPU over the life of the system to keep up with the new technologies. That's why we never recommend overshooting the GPU as it's diminishing returns.

thanks Scott :)

just to get a better understanding, i have a few questions:

  1. Processor - in general is the AMD better for gaming compared to the Intel?
  2. power Supply - is the one you recommended for the purpose of upgrading the GPU further down the line?
  3. Case: i like the FRACTAL NORTH TG GAMING CASE (WHITE) - i know it is a bit expensive but is it a good case? or will I have issues down the line?
thanks again

Yes, the 7800X3D is the best gaming CPU you can buy. The AM5 platform that it's on can also be upgraded so it's a no brainer. Intel you can't.
PSU is to cover any eventuality. You would be at extreme GPU levels before 1000w wouldn't be enough (4090 is cutting it fine IMO).
Fractal North case is fine if you want to spend the extra dough. Eats into your budget a fair bit though.
