Advice Needed

Hi folks,

Not sure about the cooler on this. Limited choice when I ordered, but more available now.
I probably should have gone with an AMD CPU but not sure it’s worth the effort of changing now (ordered on 21/9/2020). I’m into 39 working days of pre-production (due to the 3080) and don’t want to complicate things.
Got a G7 Odyssey 32inch screen and plan on a 32inch 4K late next year 🤞.
I also do some amateur music production using Ableton Live 10 with a small Focusrite interface and an Impulse 49.

I would definitely up the cooler, you'll want an H100i Platinum as a minimum on that cpu. You're free to make amendments up until it's in building and you can do this through your online account, it won't change your order queue or anything like that.

I'd also drop bullguard as it's known to cause issues with networking and CPU spikes.

I'd also up the warranty to at least silver.

Other than that (aside from being Intel) it's well balanced, should do you fine.

PS.... the 32 G7 is a lovely monitor! Nice choice!

I've just moved across to Ableton 10 Live on my PC from Logic Pro on a MBP, got fed up of Apple hardware so giving it a go. Have you seen the reviews of Ableton 11? They've made some MAJOR improvements, looks to be the best of the best now hands down, really excited to try it out!

I have only seen some ads on my email for Ableton 11. Does look good!! I was always very worried as to what software/DAW to go with. There is a professional industry standard (I cant remember which DAW it is) but i went with Ableton, glad now after what you said. Ill have a look at 11.

If you have Ableton10 Standard its £129 to upgrade to 11 standard edition (£319 new!!). If you buy 10 (£255) now you’ll get a free upgrade to 11. It’s a good time to buy 10 standard or Suite editions…. If you haven’t already. I'll probably upgrade in the new year.

If on Ryzen yes, those 2 plus I would switch to 4x 8gb on the 3600mhz RAM, just the way RAM works with Ryzen, 4 DIMMS seem to provide better results.

Ive swapped them!! Chap at PCS was brill. No issues at all. If I have to wait a bit longer on the changes so be it.
