Spec looks very good tbh. Not much to say :)

If 15.6" is an option, the Vortex laptop has a gsync screen, but if you prefer 17.3" and/or aren't fussed about gsync then the above's great

Thanks mate 😊 In terms of thermals would it be worth getting a bigger chassis e.g. Octane? or does this handle cpu and gpu fine? Had a look on the Octane but that would be like 300-400 quid more

The Octane is a bigger chassis because it has a desktop CPU in it (which uses more power, generates more heat, and so needs beefier cooling), and it also supports the RTX 2080. So temps won't be lower, it's just able to manage the additional heat from the components it has.

But it costs a fortune, is huge, and isn't really what most people who are after a gaming laptop should be looking at as the first port of call. It's a good product, but for more of a niche I think :)

Makes sense mate, I get it, thank you! tbf I’ll stick to this recoil, reasonable price and size indeed😊

Pulling the trigger next week Thursday, ah I can’t wait 😁

Although one last question, how does this laptop handles heat coming from gpu and cpu? With my old laptop for me 75-85 Celsius is normal under heavy load so if this is more or less the same I’m happy 🙏

It may well be to the higher end of that, or even the high 80s with peaks to the 90s. Sometimes low 90s is what you see some users report.

Intel's CPUs are just hot these days - which is what happens if you keep trying to push frequencies higher and higher and stuff more and more cores into the system, all on the same architecture you've had since 2015.

This is the new normal.

They work, and the laptops are fine, it's just something you should be aware of.

Well if those temps won’t damage laptop components over time I’m happy with that, thanks mate 👍😊
