It’s obviously a first gen version from a particularly dodgy Chinese manufacturer, but it does mean it’s clearly getting more feasible and they now have a new standard out that increases available bandwidth significantly. Fingers crossed the more mainstream companies start to concentrate on it a bit more, and who knows, within 5 years or so we may have it baked into the monitor!

I'm wondering, wouldn't it interfere with wifi and Bluetooth signals? And... of course, 5G 😁 🤣

The Agent Cooper Church of Cable Management and Latter Day Saints is very interested in this development, I am all about technology like this.

In other cable related news I found one of these in my man drawer earlier. Can’t actually remember the last time I used one so binned it.

Eeeeurrrggh... I hated Scart... and they were SOOOO expensive, and the pins invariably bent for no reason at all and WHY WERE THEY SOOOO BIG!!!

I was clearing out my parents and found 2 (actually very nicely built) Monster Scart cables, they went straight to the dump!

I'm sure I remember my slightly crazy but tech mad physics colleague telling me in a decade or two houses would have wireless power throughout and all electrically powered items would just start charging once your within a few feet of your house qirelessly. No power cables every required again and no power sockets needed.

The cats normally love playing with / biting any exposed wires and cables so I initially gave it to them to play with. When even those two showed no interest in it I knew it was officially dead tech.
