About the delivery

I could pick it up.... but it would be 5 hour round trip to Kilmarnock. They've closed their Carlisle depot, which would be only about 50 minutes away, and more do-able. Might have to pick it up anyway. I'll spare you the details.

Let me add my 2c here.

Today (Well, yesterday now I guess), I was due to receive my PC from PCS, around 2pm, I receive a package too small to be a computer, but it is only package "2 of 2", I get told my other package is in another van and shall be delivered later.

Inside said package is my welcome pack from PCS, manuals, cables and other random gubbins.

So, I wait until around 5pm, thinking it is getting a tad late, I call Yodel for an update, they explain it could be as late as 6:30pm, but it is definitely in a van and will be delivered today.

7pm, I call again, basically get told the same thing, but to wait till even later, until 8-9pm.

I go, worried now but to watch the football and wait, I check my tracking to say the parcel has been delivered, of course I call them AGAIN and talk to some unhelpful girl who hangs up on me (And I was nothing but polite, no yelling, swearing and such.) so I call right back, talk to a girl who was actually helpful, she explains it's showing on their system that both packages have been delivered, I explain I only received part 2 of 2, so she puts it though to "tracing" who will try to find where my parcel has got to and will contact me in the next few days and also emails the Kilmarnock depot where the package seems to have went missing from.

I feel she was basically powerless to do much else, but at least she done what she could.

So now, all I have is a box of cables and manuals, tracking is showing both parcels delivered and Yodel don't seem to know their arse from their elbow.

Today I am calling the Kilmarnock depot to try to get some answers, if they have my package and it hasn't been put in a van or some such, I will physically go there myself and pick it up, I don't trust this lot now after this **** I had to deal with.

I still haven't called PCS to let them know of the situation, it was past office hours by the time I was done and it's too early to do so now but I will get that done first thing at 9am as well.

Aw man, I'd be well ****ed if I were you, I'm surprised you kept your cool throughout it.

Hopefully it's just some sort of misunderstanding, I wouldn't be surprised if you had it today. Hopefully it does so you can put all this cr*p behind you and start enjoying your P.C! I do agree about calling PCS about it, even to just let them know of your experience with Yodel. (to be honest, I've never heard of them till I went on the forums)

Eh, I've worked in customer service, even if they wanted to help, most of them couldn't do much of anything I bet, though getting fobbed off by all but the last girl I spoke to really irritated the hell out of me.

Anyways, update...again.

After a little 8am phonecall to the Kilmarnock depot, spoke to a girl there who physically put the phone down, went into the warehouse and found the package, so it does exist at least.

She said it'll be out to me this morning sometime.

Here's hoping, but...still, can't get my hopes up too high after the shenanigans last night.

People write reviews when they're ****ed off, when they're pleased they don't bother, because well, they have what they wanted and expected. So yes there's always going to be more complaints then praises.

Yodel have only given me a perfect service so far, guess you're just unlucky.

I'm a bit worried because I live in a block of flats above some shops on a busy road. I just hope the driver has the sense to read the notes I've added to the order. Reading the stories above though, I don't hold out much hope. Why is the service in this country so appalling? My Japanese wife is stunned at how bad it is, like a 3rd world country.

Don't start worrying about it.
My address can be awkward to find, my front door is not on the street that my address is (my building is on the corner of two streets), the only number on my door is the flat number, i.e the house number is nowhere to be found, I did write this down in the delivery notes. And they happily found me.

Yeah, you can always write notes down for your courier as long as it's simple, I'm sure they have dealt with worse in the past.. personally I have a house name and I'm down a long country road, only house in the street. And it's always good to explain that I have a pack of beagles that go crazy when they hear the gate bell :D

I live in a flat too, I don't know is the reason why they cant delivery to me ? The buzzer work I heard before. That make no sense if they came here I cant hear the buzzer.
Well I still not get my PC, they stop delivery today maybe was after 3 time delivery. I called Yodel and seem not so helpful, just arrange another delivery and I dont feel so hopeful. She told me they will call me before delivery, what I just want they to is call me when they arrive my flat. Let me know u have come to my address at least....
The worst situation is to pick up by myself. But it seem to be the most easy way..zzzz

True. Although I have been totally cool and honest about what's went on so far, if anything I held back on how bad they were for me but even in dealing with them, I just kept cool and polite, it worked out in the end cause now I'm sitting here typing at my new PCS machine. :)

In the end, I called the depot that had my system, explained how horrible the service has been so far, so the girl I was talking to went to the warehouse, found my package and got it sent out there and then, it was at my door about an hour later.

So, Yodel aren't all bad, some of their employees are good and helpful, problem is, I only met two and talked to six. The first two didn't check anything, just fobbed me off, the third just plain lied to me, the fourth hung up on me but the last two both went out of their way to be helpful and get my stuff sorted.

I'm tempted to write a letter of complaint to Yodel about how bad their service was for me, sure the package was one day late and I could handle that, but the lies and getting messed around was just a total failure on their part.

Can anything give me any advice on my issue at the moment....

I paid for the "before 10am weekday" option for my delivery and the delivery was today (After following the parcel tracking service) it was out on delivery by 9am. Now i have to leave at work by 10am, hence paying the delivery option. It didn't come by 10am, i don't think anyone is in my flat today to pick it up if they did come late. I cant ring until after work which is 5-30 to see what happened but can you pick things up from the delivery offices if you missed it? and what is the crack with the delivery cost if they don't do it on time? do you get a refund?

I cant do redelivery because im away from monday so im gonna have to detour and hopefully pick it up 20 miles out of the way at the service centre on the monday because they wonder redeliver saturday or let me pick it up saturday....

Im a bit mad about this now.

What was the reason for not being able to get it tomorrow? I thought they did deliveries on Saturday, or will they literally just not redeliver it tomorrow for you?

They probably just wont deliver it tomorrow since you have to pay extra for Saturday delivery.
BirKy I suggest ringing PCS to let them know it wasn't delivered before 10, and see what they can sort out with Yodel.
