A widespread problem with Intel Core 13th Gen HX and RTX 40 series causes sporadic screen freezes.

Another retailer has posted about issues with their version of the recoil 4080/4090 and posted a bios that has apparently fixed the issue, i presume we may need a custom version of that bios so am just wondering if you have an eta of then it could be available? Some days it seems to be fine other days it can freeze every 20mins.

Youd need to ask PCS, they don't monitor the forums and none of us work for them.

From other users reports on PCS chassis, it was the GPU driver, rolling back to an earlier version fixed it.

Have you checked event viewer? Is it this kind of error?

Because I've been getting that too despite reinstalling the graphics drivers almost a dozen times.

I've been having the same problem, same errors on event viewer.

I've sent PCS a message via support tab to see if they are aware of the issue and if they have a fix or will be releasing a fix when one is available. Hopefully, we hear something about this soon.

They've just updated with a link to BIOS files and steps on flashing for any of you needing it, same link as above

Hi all,

Thought I'd join in on the discussion and share my own experiences since buying this laptop back in late Feb this year.

Quick spec - Recoil 17", i9-13900hk, 4090, 64GB, dual nvme in raid 0

The major issue for me has been the Nvidia driver crashing at low workloads (browsing, YouTube etc.) I'd repeatedly get the event viewer nvlddmkm entries as pictured above in Ksisa's post and everthing would take a minute or so to recover. This was a very regular occurence.

I actually ended up RMA'ing the device before the bios update was known about and the replacement unit didn't have the issue.

I've since updated the bios on the replacement laptop with the one provide by PCS and not noticed any discernable improvement/degradation in a general platorm sense but I'd be interested to know if this has been a successful fix for anyone having the Nvidia issue above.
