A few questions regarding my new PC>

My new 'next day prebuild' PC should arrive tomorrow (my 2nd from PCS bought over six years ago),I expect the build quality to be just as good as my first purchase but I would like to draw on anyone else's experience with a few questions thanks.

Would adding/swapping components invalidate the warranty? (e.g. a better wifi card, internal SSD drive, PCI-e to USB 3.2 card for more USB ports and RAM)

Can I add RAM from a different manufacturer (2 x Crucial 16GB) along side the Corsair memory already installed if both run at the same speed (3200MHz) without issue?

Opinions on water cooling please? Will an AIO water cooler last five years plus? Are they prone to leakage? Can they be refilled if required?

As long as you dont damage anything in the process you can swap stuff around - with the exception of the case and/or motherboard

RAM can be very finicky now-a-days, so it can be that unless its the exact same model it may not play well (ie not boot), unless yorue really really really lucky

Modern AIO's are now very reliable, mine is now nearly 4 and is doing perfectly fine, but no you cannot refill them, they are sealed units

No, PCS have an open chassis policy whereby you can make most amendments you like without affecting warranty (so long as you don't do any damage in the process)

7.8 Unlike with most computer companies, we allow you to open your case and install your own components without voiding your warranty on the following conditions:

  • If the actions of the person installing the components cause damage to the computer, your warranty will be void;
  • If you install components that are not purchased from us and they cause problems with your computer, your warranty will be void;
  • If you install components that are not purchased from us we will in no way support you in installing them or with any problems you have relating to the components you have installed.
  • We will support you in installing components purchased from us providing you have purchased them through the upgrade service available on your online account.

As @Rakk says, it's generally best to match RAM pairs, often they don't play nicely together from different manufacturers, and even different models. Usually you'd want to have the very same make and model and timings and voltages (basically exactly the same)

My H100i has been on 24/7 since I built this iteration of my PC back in 2014. I'm only just considering a rebuild and it's nothing to do with the cooler failing ;)

Many thanks for your prompt answers @Rakk @SpyderTracks

It's good to know the cooling system has some longevity in it and that I would unlikely invalidate the warranty by adding other components.
With regards to the different RAM sticks potentially not working together, I will likely just swap out the existing 16GB pair for the 32GB pair (eventually).

regards
