Hi Guys. Hope you all well..

Finally received my 5080 but unfortunately the cable adapter for the PSU requires 3 connections and there were only 2 used for the 3080. I can see on some of the cables there are connectors which weren't used for 3080. Do I simply use one of the unused connectors?

What PSU do you have, and what cable came with the GPU, as that might dictate what you can power over each pair/pigtail.

The PSU is the CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET and the GPU came with the 3 cable adapter. I'll upload a pic

Ordered 😄 thanks for the heads up. It's working at the moment now ive attached the additional cable. Just downloading Silent Hill 2. Hopefully I see some decent improvements with this card.
So sorry, I've misled you, cancel that purchase, it needs 3 x 8pins at the PSU, the above one is only 2

Your PSU is the 2021 1000w RMx which is an ATX 2.4 design, according to corsairs table, it requires Type 4 PCIe connectors, and the only one they do for that is the one I linked above which is more designed for the 4000 series

I would just settle for the adapter

Being a little lazy in not starting a new thread, but on a similar note, I've got a new 9070 XT on the way. I've got a CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET PSU bought in late 2020, what am I likely to need?

This suggests I'll need a 3 x 8-pin as my existing 3080 uses a 2 x 8-pin.

Bravo on securing it, I've been searching for days, that's the only place I could find with any stocks other than flippers on market places.

So I believe that PSU has 5 PCIe connectors / CPU 4 + 4 pin, so I will be taken for the CPU, then the 2 / splitter already used for the GPU.

So you'd just need to add another PCIe 8pin connector on the PSU side to supply the 3rd connection.

I don't believe it comes supplied with a GPU bracket, although it's under 300mm in length, so fairly short, it also has one side of the chassis bent upwards which will increase the tensile strength.

But you may want to consider a GPU bracket.

There are the basic stand type ones like this (some have RGB bling):

Or you can get the more sturdy kind that I'd personally prefer for more rigidity that actually screws into the case brackets (again, more expensive options have RGB:

Then of course, you're going to need to exponentially increase your internal RGB with either a Strimer, or Corsair option:
