Not really sure where to start, so I've come up with this build. I want to edit 4k hevc H2.65 video. Software used is Première pro and Davinci Resolve

Thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated.

I don't know anything about video encoding, but you may want to look at a different case - you are putting expensive hardware in a low end case and that means poor thermals - I would go fractal focus G as a minimum.

The Wifi card is an 'N' type, which is the older standard. I'd recommend a 'AC' type, which is newer. Its backwards compatible, so if you have an old N router it will still work fine but if you have (or are likely to get a new router soon) a newer 'AC' type router you'll need an AC card to take advantage of it.

I don't know how much a fast drive helps for video editing, but you might want to look under the M.2 drive section on the configurator for some faster options than the Samsung 860.

Ok, got it. I've up-graded the case. Before you came along, I didn't know what an M.2 drive was, but checked out the specs and it is a marked difference, so that's been upgraded.

As far as the wifi is concerned, I'm not too worried. I run on mobile data only (its faster than our local fibre service) and use a netgear router. A 5gz would be an improvement, particularly so when 5 G is just around the corner.

You've been a great help, thanks.

Faster RAM to go with the Ryzen CPU.

And ideally a more powerful GPU e.g. RTX 2060 Super.

And I'd suggest a better quality and more efficient PSU i.e. TXm series.

Depends what the max budget is.

Ok made a few tweaks and bellow is the updated spec. Max budget is £1800 and this current package comes in at £1792.

Hows it looking?

Thanks

Just swaped the RAM for 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3000MHz (2 x 16GB) . Does this balance the sytem better?

It does take me slightly over budget, but I can live with that. (just don't tell the wife)

You want a much better CPU cooler ideally, especially as the CPUs do benefit from being kept fairly cool (performance wise).

That would obviously take you further over budget.

A less expensive SSD would save you £100+ to invest back into other components. e.g. a better CPU cooler, and a better motherboard with better VRMs. And you can add another M.2 SSD, way faster than the WD Black, in the future when PCIe 4.0 SSDs start coming into their own.

Sorry guys, just one more question.

the fractal g case is just a tad fugly, would the
CORSAIR CARBIDE SERIES™ 275Q QUIET CASE be a suitable replacement?
Cheers
