330W adaptor?

Hello

Just ordered a new Octane VI laptop with i7-9700K processor (full specs below). When configuring there was the choice of 230W or 330W adaptor but when I chose 330W it said the laptop requires a 230W adapter. Just wondering why I can't choose the 330W adapter especially as its a desktop CPU? If this laptop doesn't require 330W then what does and why is it an option in the dropdown?

Thanks for any help!

It depends which GPU you choose, it's not something you choose, it depends on the power requirements of the laptop due to components.

Really it should be auto set, rather than in the configurator, totally understand why it's confusing.

Hmmm interesting. Yes I see with the RTX 2070 it lets you choose the 330W......

Is there any benefit to speak to PCS and request the 330W anyway? Just in case under heavy load, the CPU might end up power throttling??

The chassis will only draw what it requires, no matter what power supply you have. So if the power supply was underpowered, it just wouldn't power on. If it's overpowered it would only draw the max for the chassis anyway.
