3070 vs 6700XT

When i RMA’d my gigabyte card, there was that many getting RMA’d, that Currys were getting stock in and all of them were immediately allocated to replacements. So although they had multiple shipments, not a single card was sold on their site.

I think Gigabyte are push out far more cards than anyone, but are sacrificing on their quality or their quality checks.

And 3070 has absolutely flew back up in price... back to recommending the 6700 XT

Can anyone, probably unlikely, be able to say what these changes are caused by and how long the 3070 is going to take before it decreases back down on its price because i was going to switch yesterday but i decided to do it today but then it increased in price by 100 so i figured i would just wait

It's just the market at the moment, prices are crazy and changing every day, due to worldwide stock issues, logistics issues due to covid, brexit causing issues with imports at the border.

A friend of mine who builds professional speakers and sells worldwide said that before covid it cost roughly £2000 for the import costs of a container. He said now, that price has gone up to around £10,000.

That's just one area that's been impacted.

Crypto is another issue. i know a guy with like 10 3070’s cable tied to a rack and doesn’t mind spending £1000 on one, as he will make it back in 6 months or something.

I guess the only thing people can to with these sorts of issues is to just hope day after day. For my case a single gpu.

Regularly check for price drops. I don’t think i have ever paid full price for a computer component. 3070 was a lot cheaper this morning than it is now
