I think you’re right, that’s the incorrect cable used to the GPU. It may well be to the correct PCIe output, but it shouldn’t be split, there should be a separate cable going into the second connector.

What you’d probably need to do to trace it is break the cable ties that are wrapping all the PSU cables, then trace it back to the PSU to determine which output it’s in.

There should have been spare PSU cables in the welcome box.

Actually, we can try something.

check your spare cables for the PSU and find a PCIe one which is usually a 6+2 like this on the right:

If you can find that, just plug that into the spare PCIe connector on the PSU, and remove the second connector off the GPU which is off the splitter and add this one, then see how it works.

That way you don't have to disturb what's already there yet.

Spyder thanks so much again. I'm trying to call pcspecialist right now too but as they close at 5 unlikely I'll get off hold.

Ok, luckily I got through to pcspecialist and the person I spoke to is sure it's a bad GPU so I'm still getting the new on around tuesday. If that one has the same issues obviously I'll give this a try provided it doesnt void my warranty haha. Thanks again Spyder.

I would follow PCS advice. They should be able to just ship you a new card by courier and you can just slot it in rather than having to send the whole thing back.

Hopefully the new card sorts it. Nearly 3 weeks into owning my new gaming pc and I've done almost no gaming on it 😭

Spyder, thanks again for your troubleshooting help. You're a star

I'm not sure I particularly helped with this issue, think I complicated things.

Hopefully the new card has it singing perfectly. It's going to be a fantastic machine when it's sorted ;)
