I'm looking on buying my 1st gaming PC and would spend around £1500 but could go a bit higher. I have no idea what is best with gaming PCs so any advice or suggestions would be appreciated!

What games will you be playing? What monitor will you be using? (And do you have the monitor already?)

Thanks for your reply! I'll be looking to play lots of games, from FPS games to RPGs, I have nothing particular in mind. I dont think it needs to be one with top specs for first person shooters, though. Ive not bought a monitor yet, but will be looking at that soon. Id probably look at a mid-high end monitor, although ive been advised a 4k monitor isnt really necessary, hopefully this information is useful!

Well, moderately. The key thing is to work out what monitor you'll be using. What budget do you have for a monitor? A 4K one is definitely not a great shout; 1440p might be a good bet, but it depends how you're going to spend your money...

Yeah I think I was going to buy a 1440p one, I hadnt really thought about a budget for a monitor. I'm completely new to it so maybe around £500? How does that sound for a monitor? Top much?

Could we describe it as a budget of £2000 for monitor and PC? I'd make it more like £300 for the monitor, which would enable you to get something nice like the Gigabyte M27Q.

Case
CORSAIR 4000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE Decent case
Processor (CPU)

AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Six Core CPU (4.0GHz-5.2GHz/38MB CACHE/AM5) You could make a case for going for the 7700 instead, to give a tiny bit more CPU performance/"futureproofing"
Motherboard

ASUS® TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6)
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB)
Graphics Card
16GB AMD RADEON™ RX 7800 XT GAMING - HDMI, DP - DX® 12 You could downgrade to the 7700 XT to save a little bit, though the 7800 XT is a very good card
