So i've attached some specs for a PC that I'm getting for my son's birthday. I've read up on the forum and hopefully I've come up with something that will work well. My budget is £2000 and as you can see I've almost maxed out on that. The computer is primarily for gaming but he does need to do some CAD work as well so any input on that would be great. If i've over specified or spent money unnecessarily then your input would help, thanks in advance.

Okay,

so i've gotten rid of the monitor and will try and order that somewhere else. A question about the RAM, have you recommended this amount to help run the higher spec monitor or for CAD rendering or is it good to have the extra anyway? Also is the best connection to the monitor the DP one?

I would just drop the RAM down to 16GB. It's very unlikely that your son will need 32GB at this sort of level. You're talking high end full scale renders etc before RAM is going to be a constraint, even then.... it'll cache on the drive just fine.

Paired with a 1440p 144hz monitor this system is perfect.
