13.3" Lafité Build Quaility and a few questions :)

Hi,

I am studying computer science at university and I've been considering getting the 13.3" Lafité, with i5 5200U, 240gb ssd, 8gb ram. I was really hoping to ask a few questions about this laptop.

1 => How are the thermals and noise on this device please? Every laptop I've had are disruptively loud with 35 watt chips, which is why I am curious about this 15 watt SKU.
2 => Also, how durable is this laptop, for example with light pressure on the back of the screen, will it deform the LCD like a lot of the plastic chassis laptops please?
3 => Has anyone tried any games on this devices, like CS Go please?
4 => Is the battery life significantly impaired with going with i7 SKU and do you think it's worth it over the i5 please?
5 => Lastly, for compiling code and writing medium to large projects, predominantly in scala/java using inteliji, do you think the i5 and this laptop as a whole will be good enough please?

I currently have the ultranote 2, and the chassis has split almost in two when picking it up on one corner and is currently usable (I doubt it would be covered by warranty), which is why I am really curious about this laptop with the aluminium construction

Thanks so much for any help,

Danny :)

Hi Danny,

1 => Overall the laptop is rather quiet with the i5 5200U, 8GB Ram + SSD set up I have. The fan spins when running games or under heavy workload but it is not nearly as disruptive and loud as my Dell XPS used to be. Thermals are OK, it only seems to get slightly warm underneath while the keyboard keeps cool.
2 => The aluminium build is quite sturdy and while I haven't tried to bend it I think it should resist light pressure without deforming the screen at all.
3 => If that is any benchmark, I was able to run Skyrim in low settings and Diablo 3 in High settings without issue.
4 => Can't comment on how the i7 would perform. 7 hours of light use is what I get normally with the i5. I can work away heavily for 3 hours without worrying about battery at all.
5 => Hopefully someone else will be able to comment about this ?

Good luck
