Good evening everybody!
After 12 working days I have finally received my PC this Wednesday (specs posted below).
After receiving it I have mounted an AMD 6600 waiting for the new series to come (the only cables disorganised ;)). I already positioned the second 8 pin for when I will change the...
Many thanks for the feedback Martinr36 & Spyder! I have remained 15 years ago at the time of Crysis, the legend of the game that cannot be played! 😝 I admit having liquid moving in the case makes me feel a bit uneasy! :D
Will I still get all the PSU cables if I order the video card later on? I...
Alright I have also changed the cpu cooler with the "Corsair iCUE H100i RGB PRO XT Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler"..
Hopefully the pump will last and I won`t get the pc flooded with coolant! 😬 How reliable do you think it is? How long does it usually last provided a few hours per day...
Many thanks sck. I have followed your suggestion and changed the Corsair 850W with the 1000W RMx SERIES. So whatever gpu I will choose in the future I will not restricted, plus it looks like the 1000W RMx is a very good PSU, I think it`s worth extra £32.
I have looked into the CPU cooler and it...
Thanks for the idea Sck451 :) I already ordered the pc yesterday afternoon (13600k) I should have it with me in a couple of weeks.
I might follow your suggestion and add another ssd later on. At the moment I do not have a whole lot installed on the laptop so it might be ok for a while.
Yeah...
Alright, I have checked and it looks like it is extremely common to have Z690 with the new 13th series. So I don`t think I should have problems once PCS updated the BIOS, and if any I trust PCS will deal with them before shipping :)
I have made the order! ✨✨✨ I will let you know how the pc will...
Hi, I would like to purchase a pc. At the moment I`m on a PCS laptop I purchased in June 2019. The laptop runs fine (very happy with the purchase) but I would like something more in terms of performance (also under stress the fan becomes very noisy - which is normal I know, but I don`t like).
I...
Me too. To buy and fit yourself a high end air cooler does not make lots of sense to me.
The purpose of buying a pre-built pc to me it would be to rely on a reliable company like PCS to do all the work, tests and have a warranty on the whole system so that you do not have to worry/spend time...
Personally I prefer high end air coolers as I think there`s lesser things that can go wrong compared to liquid coolers. Even if I have to lower a little bit the cpu clock it`s not a big deal for me. Many thanks for the feedback :)
Hi,
I am a very happy owner of a PCS laptop. I got curious with the new Ryzen, so I went to the configurator to check what was available and get an idea of the costs.
Long story short I see that most of the cpu coolers are liquid coolers. Is it because they are safer to ship? (In case of...
Thanks Spider it is very clear it basically the bottleneck is the monitor.
https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/accessories-and-monitors/monitors/home/L28u-30C19280DL028inch-MonitorHDMI/p/65FAGAC2UK
Here it says
Video Signal
1 x HDMI 2.0 1 x DP 1.2
So in theory it has a 2.0 HDMI but I can only get...
Many thanks barlew & Spyder. The best my monitor can do at 4k is 60hz. This happens only if I connect a cable using the display port on the back on the monitor. The other end I connect it to my laptop (Nvidia 1650) on a mini display port. As soon as I use the HDMI connection (2.1 cable) it drops...
Hello everyone, during these days I am thinking about changing my current laptop (specs in signature) which to be fair is still performing very well, so I am very satisfied with the purchase I did with Pcspecialist during mid-2019.
I am using the laptop in my signature. When I bought it I was...
Thanks a lot Sibun1 and Spydertracks! If the cpu cooler gives me another 5° of gain it means I am already 15 to 20 degrees lower than what I would be in a standard configuration.
I just tried playing Rome II and I confirm I am already peaking up only at 75° maximum on the hottest core, with 70°...
Thanks a lot for your input. I will start by raising it a bit (with 4 little feet) and see if I see any changes in temperatures. Do you already have a Thermaltake laptop cooler model you would recommend?
I have forgotten an important detail. The laptop is actually working with the lid closed...
Thanks for your reply.
You assume wrongly! :ROFLMAO: I have it on my table. The laptop is over a year old (configuration in my signature).
I paid a little more to have a better thermal paste applied.
Thermal Paste
COOLER MASTER MASTERGEL MAKER THERMAL COMPOUND
Nothing, I am keeping it at -0.100V.
I have gone lower than that, tested and passed without problems. However when I reboot the Intel program says something like it could not apply the core voltage offset -which to me it is the program being over conservative, as when tested with the cpu running...
Hi everyone, with the heatwave we are facing these days I feel my poor laptop is under pressure! Now I am pretty much in idle with temperatures at around 60 degrees with short peaks at around 90 degrees while I am playing Crisis Warhead or Rome II. Which I know I am still in the limits, but even...
Thanks a lot for the feedback Spydertracks.
Yeah I think the laptop is excellent. Once again very happy with the purchase. Also nice forum/community. Many thanks.
