    PCSPECIALIST Installing new GPU

Cheers sck, I used a small prop instead just for a bit of peace of mind more than anything. As you said it wasn't too bad anyway. Thanks.

    PCSPECIALIST Installing new GPU

Thanks for your help Robin. I did attach the additional cable after looking online and took a peek at the one already inserted into the PSU and yes it had 7 pins. Alive and kicking! May just source another bracket it'll be alright for now! (He thinks)....

    PCSPECIALIST Installing new GPU

Also, more than happy for people to laugh at this but I can't see any guidance or have any idea what to do with this bracket. It's way too close to fans in position above and here the actual support doesn't look like it fits anywhere good.

    PCSPECIALIST Installing new GPU

Thanks Robin. I've had a look and I only have the broken sounding additional pcie cable in my welcome pack. Also having a mare trying to attach the support bracket. So question is do I order another 8 to 8 cable and attach that or go with 2 x 6+2 off the same cable?

    PCSPECIALIST Installing new GPU

I also have a random 8 pin PCI into 6+2 but it's actually a 7 pin as it's missing one of the pins....

    PCSPECIALIST Installing new GPU

Hi all. New rig turned up today. 8 days post order which is great. About to install 6750xt but notice the cables that were kindly run through for me are 2 x 6+2 (daisy). Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought these can each only supply 75 watts...or are only safe to supply this amount and I...

PCSPECIALIST New gaming rig check - 1500ish

If I had a bit of faith in myself I could spec this minus a GPU and source a 6800xt for almost the same cost and install it myself. (Perhaps after today things may reduce a touch more). I'm not very clued up on tech but is installing a new GPU relatively painless? Figure with the 6800xt I'll...

PCSPECIALIST New gaming rig check - 1500ish

Thanks Robin. The 6750xt is cheaper than the 6700xt on the PCS spec sheet so figure more performance at lower cost then why not. I was mulling over going low spec with a 6600 and doing a GPU update early next year but the 6750xt should have enough legs for a little while before I start...

PCSPECIALIST New gaming rig check - 1500ish

GPU - Am waiting for Nov 3rd announcement but in reality not sure how long I'd have to wait for low/mid range 7000 series GPUs to hit the market. I don't have a playable PC at the moment and I'll make one or two upgrades in next 5 years perhaps anyway. CPU/AM4 - granted I know it's a dead gen...

PCSPECIALIST New gaming rig check - 1500ish

Hi all - did get a spec checked back in Feb but with a house move found myself putting things off so would appreciate a once over of this. Aim - 1440p high refresh gaming. Games played - Total War III, Warhammer 40k, D2R, will get involved in more shooters/adventure style games. Monitor...

PCSPECIALIST Advice on 1440p gaming rig

Thanks for the reply Junior, much appreciated. Will probably stick with the 3200 ram then and a less pricier gaming drive. Depending on when I pull the trigger on this system it may be even less costlier (thinking when gen 5 comes out - although granted you can keep waiting forever and never...

PCSPECIALIST Advice on 1440p gaming rig

Hi all. Stumbled on this thread a few weeks ago and have been reading away at advice already given. Am currently using a very aged pc set up i5 3rd gen with 1050ti...which has served me well but it's soon time to move things up a notch (or 9) and look to spec a 12th gen system. I'm going to...
