PCSPECIALIST [FIXED] Unknown problem playing LEGO Indy 2 (possibly refresh rate)

FIXED - how I fixed it: Downloaded cru-1.5.1.zip from here https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU Unzipped to a location on C:/Users/[username] Ran cru.exe Created a "standard" resolution of 1920x1080 (16:9) @ 72Hz N.b. 60hz also works but produces quite choppy...

PCSPECIALIST [FIXED] Unknown problem playing LEGO Indy 2 (possibly refresh rate)

Thank you for your help! I've tried installing the PhysX Legacy Driver and that sadly didn't work. I also set the PhysX processor to specifically be the NVIDIA gpu but this did not work either. I also tried setting the preferred gpu to nvidia and setting the maximum fps both globally and for...

PCSPECIALIST [FIXED] Unknown problem playing LEGO Indy 2 (possibly refresh rate)

I don’t know how to activate the mux switch or if I even have one since I can’t seem to see an option for it in either the uefi firmware settings screen or in the control centre? (Would you like me to post screenshots of those?)

Is Custom Resolution Utility safe to try to create a 1920x1080 @ 60Hz resolution for me to choose in the Windows advanced display settings?

PCSPECIALIST [FIXED] Unknown problem playing LEGO Indy 2 (possibly refresh rate)

Is it safe to try disabling the integrated gpu from the device manager as long as the nvidia gpu is still active? or is there any chance that this would make my system not display anything and require a reinstall?

PCSPECIALIST [FIXED] Unknown problem playing LEGO Indy 2 (possibly refresh rate)

I can't find anything like this in either... but, the advanced display options did say the display is running on iGPU and I can use the windows graphics settings to set the game to use iGPU and that still doesn't work

PCSPECIALIST [FIXED] Unknown problem playing LEGO Indy 2 (possibly refresh rate)

I mean I don't exactly see anything in the BIOS labelled "MUX", I just see Office Mode or Game Mode and I'm not sure if that's the same thing as what you're referring to

Thank you for your reply! To be honest, I don't remember ever seeing something called Bullguard installed on my PC (and searching for it on the start menu doesn't show any results), it has been over 90 days since I bought this notebook. Advanced Display screenshot: I don't know exactly what a...

PCSPECIALIST [FIXED] Unknown problem playing LEGO Indy 2 (possibly refresh rate)

Hi, I'm having issues with playing LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues on Steam on my PCSPECIALIST notebook as it complains "Fatal Error! Failed to create d3d device. Application will now exit. Error = 0x8876086c". I looked this up online and it seems to have to do with refresh rates...

PCSPECIALIST Apparent huge loss in battery health after ~ 4 months - is this normal?

I temporarily switched to High Capacity Mode today to investigate if the apparent capacity loss was because Stationary Mode caps the capacity to preserve health. That didn't work but now I'm back on Stationary Mode my laptop says the battery capacity is 42,180 mWh. Batteries can't un-degrade so...

PCSPECIALIST Apparent huge loss in battery health after ~ 4 months - is this normal?

I just ran tests on both Linux and Windows and they both reported 38.8 Wh Are you sure there is nothing else I can or should do before contacting PCS for a replacement battery?

PCSPECIALIST Apparent huge loss in battery health after ~ 4 months - is this normal?

No it wasn't a gaming laptop and had integrated graphics (though I did game on it)... but it ran Windows 8.1 and I later stuck Ubuntu on it too, and I don't believe it had a fundamentally different type of battery (I believe these specs are what that machine had - lithium ion just like the...

PCSPECIALIST Apparent huge loss in battery health after ~ 4 months - is this normal?

Mostly shut down and left plugged into the mains. I didn't know that would be risky to battery health (I did it a lot with other devices without experiencing much issue - a Toshiba Satellite laptop I got in 2014 is still at about 60% battery health and has spent a lot of its lifespan plugged...

PCSPECIALIST Apparent huge loss in battery health after ~ 4 months - is this normal?

Hi, About four months ago I purchased the 15.6" Elimina Pro laptop from PCSpecialist, and have been overall very satisfied with my purchase. I have been looking at my battery health from time to time (via a combination of "powercfg /batteryreport" on Windows 11 and the "Power Statistics" app...
