Interesting suggestion!!
few questions - is there minimum spec the laptop would need to be or would it literally just act as a portal to my powerful home pc? I like this solution a lot, actually. Would it operate seamlessly? So no stuttering or delays when I try and perform a task. As over time...
Thanks! Unless you have more to add (post interview), this is perfect. I'll proceed with the purchase in the next week so if you think of anything, let me know :)
Good luck tomorrow and thanks again mate.
Thanks so much! I had originally thought the 4070 was overkill for a laptop due to the limited power? For mostly 2d animations, a 3080 would be sufficient? Seeing your suggestions, I'm not so sure anymore!
@Tron1982 any input from yourself would be greatly appreciated 🙏
Hello,
I need a laptop for when I work out of the office...
I'll be working exclusively in adobe creative suite. 50% Photoshop, 50% AE! Very little 3d animation.
This will only be used as a secondary machine, my main PC will be used the vast majority of the time.
what do you think of the laptop...
Thanks Tony, appreciate the advice.
After Effects isn't great a utilising GPU so for now I'm going to leave the GPU.
Upgrades I think I'll go with:

- AMD Ryzen 9 5950X Processor (16C/32T, 72MB Cache, Up to 4.9 GHz Max Boost)
Then...
Thanks guys.
I can order a new case then, no problem.
Any case you'd recommend?
This was suggested before: COOLERMASTER MASTERCASE H500 ARGB GAMING CASE
'You'd want a 1000w ideally to allow for big GPU's.'
What is this relating to? Would you mind recommending?
I'm open to upgrading any part...
My PC is overdue an upgrade.
I'm a motion designer mostly working in After Effects (2d / 3d animation) plus photoshop.
Can you suggest some upgrades I can make to my PC.
These are two items I'm considering:
- GeForce RTX 4080 16GB
- AMD Ryzen 9 5950X Processor (16C/32T, 72MB Cache, Up to 4.9...
Hi,
Lifetime Mac user making the transition to PC.
I'm a professional motion designer, any thoughts on the following specs? Anything that stands out? It'll be my first ever build so I'm fairly clueless!
Any suggestions / advice would be greatly appreciated :)
Thanks
