okay, so after 3 weeks, mine is finally on the way back to me.
from their fault report, i can see they replaced the display panel to a different model AUO B156HAN08.0
this is the same model the other clevo vendor is using.
glad to know. could you please let us know what bios & vbios version you are on?
also it's pretty weird my return arrived earlier than yours, but they are not even repairing it yet. today they told me they are still waiting for a free technician.
well, i suspected that as well. so tried with linux, which got exactly same issue, sliders showed up but the panel didn't change brightness. with eDP panels, the brightness is directly controlled by GPU via eDP signal. if it's indeed OS or driver issue, i wouldn't expect neither windows or linux...
sure no problem. i did it as customer support also asked for the forum link to send to their technicians to take a look. anyway, PM me for the link if needed.
just called PCS, very professional support personnel. here in germany they will just ask to repeat driver update / os reinstall even you told them it's already done.
anyhow, their technician will look into that and give a response later. we discussed about BIOS versions over the phone, the one...
okay, an expert told me that it's very likely to be a EDID mismatch issue, which happens quite often when you replace the panel with a different model. there are some DIY fixes available to it involves flashing either flashing EDID of the panel or flashing VBIOS or BIOS. since those fixes would...
a bit more information i collected which might help with the debugging.
so AIDA64 tells that the Nova has a PANDA LM156LF1F02 screen https://www.panelook.com/LM156LF1F02_Panda_15.5_LCM_parameter_44308.html
first batch from a competitor had AUO B156HAN08.0 screen.
I'm just guessing here, maybe...
from what i read in a chinese forum, screen brightness is adjustable in BIOS/UEFI interface with the hotkey. if it doesn't change in UEFI interface, it's likely to be a panel issue.
Yes. Nvidia driver from clevo was installed first, then control center was installed. I also tried official driver from nvdia's website, got the same result.
