it's all good, thank you very much for the advice and pointers. this forum has always been a great resource when building a new rig.
I can find my way from here. I just have to land on which monitor to go with and the peripherals. I'm torn between the 2 Alienware models.. either the ultrawide...
So I tried to get a FE edition 5080. but have been unable to pre order before today and then they just sold out so fast on scan. (didn't even get the option to put in my basket on scan or Nvidia website).. I will try look again over the next 24 hours but I expect the same result.
I saw the 5080...
So looking over that, if i was to plump for an ultrawide, the Alienware seems to come in at the best price point. I will give it a few days until the 5080 goes on sale.
As far as the chair and stuff goes, i only picked that due to how i had budgeted with the other monitors selected. going a...
without monitors and assuming a similar priced GPU, it was £3320 or there abouts.
I am keen to have 2 monitors due to the usefulness of having somewhere else to view stuff (guides, YouTube, Spotify) while in full screen applications.
RMA? this like a returns and repair type service I guess. yea probably a wiser choice.. I'm not know for my wise instincts..
I play all sorts.. currently on the Rivals train. play Fortnite and Cod, Diablo, BG3. I'm fairly multi game. the more gfx dependent titles struggle a little on my...
Hello Spyder, I remember you helped me the first time, much appreciated.
so there are 2 reasons... 3 out of the 4 ram slots on my current mobo have quit working. this was my own doing, unintentionally when messing with RAM configurations a little while ago(I thought I knew what I was doing but...
I built a PC through PCSpecialist in 2020 and it has served me really well. I am looking to go through the process again and below is a build i put together. I also made a very similar build using the overclocked configurator which has a white cooler that would be asthetically better but the the...
It was a crossfire III formular that I used to have. It was good and there were a good few extra features.. way more than I needed at the time and it turned out to be a very reliable board for me. I guess it just mentally enforced the RoG brand for me.
I've let go of the 'Ooh Shiny' thought...
I meant more that I was drawn to the ROG brand on the STRIX. For my needs I know they are both the same thing.
On these pieces of advice I've got to a more comfortable final build... I'm going to be adding more powerful cpu/cooler and then gpu over next few years depending on where my plans...
I guess with the STRIX I've just been a little drawn in. I just remember the previous I had was easy to use, reliable and lasted through having everything around it upgrades.. I think it would still go now to be honest
I'm sure the TUF would do same job.could use saving to get 1tb m.2. We all...
Yea the 2nd drive came after making amendment down to the 3600.. saved near £80 on that one, was reading about storage n thought a 2nd drive would make sense so used saving to get the 500gb
Sorry to bump this up, i did order a spec and am pretty excited for it... I keep going back in and thinking I want to change things. Its 5 days into pre production n I guess it will be there for a few more days, enough time to tweek 😅
Below is the important parts of build with link
Case

How much space does the operating system take up generally.. I'd probably want to install Cod on the m.2 as it's my game of choice atm
*edit: a quick google search found my answer.. about 15gb.. it also seems that some answers are on another active thread
Hey there again.
I have a build in the works, you can find that thread here https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/getting-geared-up.69281/
I'm looking at my storage setup... a 2Tb barracuda HDD for storage and the 500gb Samsung m.2 for system and such.
My question is would I install...
Ok yea, how would that affect a finance agreement? I would assume the final invoice and payment structure would change once the build is complete.
I dont mind the extra much but if you dont think I'm getting enough for the money then I'd happily drop the X
Thank you again for the advice yesterday. Went ahead n placed the order..
I did in the end upgrade the Mobo to the Asus ROG strix x570. Slightly more but will allow upgrade for years and went for the recommended case as I can wait a few days
That monitor also ordered so il be rocking in no...
Yea, my mate has the old oculus doobie and a massive living room.. I believe he just recently got either the 2080 or 2070.. definatly a new card recently. His VR has worked really well for a while now tho... il make sure to research fully before diving in there
Thank you, I spent a few daya reading all your wisdom... you've got me working out what I can squeeze in tho checking for change behind the sofa like 🤣.. what would you look at and think.. hmm that would be the first thing to change?
Or should I add 'better' cooling?
Gonna sleep on it before I...
