Right - back to the topic - where are we with DDR5 RAM? On launch the high latency of DDR5 compared to DDR4 meant that the advertised higher speeds were moot in many cases - so DDR5 was really just picking up where DDR4 left of, rather than it being an amazing new thing.
Where does it live now?
That reminds me of two other words I get mixed up a lot - Heimlich and Valsalva. I one had a friend choking on his sandwich and I told him to hold his nose and blow. 🤔
I'm not a hot sauce fan at all strangely. I don't see the point really. Flavour is one thing but why the pain? I could have cornflakes in the morning while sitting on a handful of thumbtacks and have a similar experience surely?
Alright, alright - everyone BACK UP THE PONY PLEASE! This thread was supposed to be about assisting an expired gaseous emission regain lost pace with the other odours in the room.
I think this has been the most fantastic case of thread hijacking I've seen in quite a while! :)
@ubuysa I consider myself a man of science and your commentary on proper testing standards have struck home. In fact, as a fan of Gamers Nexus I think anything less than thorough and properly...
Ah ubuysa how I missed you!!!! How are you keeping!
I fully agree with your desire to retain accuracy at all times. In fact, it is this trait of yours which makes me believe we would have been a perfect couple in another life.
You'll be delighted to know that I keep the fart in a sealed...
@SpyderTracks Your post reminded me about Gamers Nexus and I’ve just wasted a whole day binge watching their videos from the past few months. I got nothing done - Windows not washed - kids not fed - bills not paid.
Thanks for nothing! 😡😡😡
In other news, it seems Intel are run mostly by...
Thanks Spyder! Helpful!!
Interesting reading up on Zen 5 - down to 3-4nm now which is bonkers. They’re getting down towards single digit multiples of the width of a single atom. Incredible really…..
So, given my long and uninvolved absence, I shall set a challenge to you all! Help me get a little caught up with all I've missed!
When I was last active it was all about AMD processors in their AM4 socket and Intel were really just handy CPU's to get your house fire started. Mind you we would...
Oooh! Good question!!!
No is the short answer. End of last year, or about 2.5 years in, it started to give me trouble and I had to start winding it back. Early this year, just out of lack of time to fiddle with it properly, I reset everything back to default, but I will give it a go and try...
Well ironically my last post here I think said something like "I'm back and will be chatting away and being involved again". That was maybe two years ago? I can't remember.....time for a re-introduction.....
Hello, I am NoddyPirate. I started my more serious PC journey (beyond off-the-shelf...
.....I have just introduced my two girls to an iconic album from my teens - The Black Album. They are transfixed. The Unforgiven has been on repeat in particular which is no surprise. Their lives will now never be the same. They will thank me later I'm sure.
I love how some music remains...
You are such a sepcial friend that if we were both on a plane that was about to crash and there was only one parachute, I would tell everyone afterwards what an amazing person you were.
