Hey guys, so I think I need a new monitor, my second monitor doesn't seem to show anything anymore (well it did very very very briefly when I was reconnecting the DVI cable for the 4th or 5th time but it disappeared very quickly)
So I'm looking for a 24" monitor, doesn't need to be 120Hz - I...
So, one of my work colleagues found this link (he sent it to me and my boss on Friday afternoon, and there followed a ten min conversation on starships with the boss :)): http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/191accgnmnevzjpg/original.jpg
It's really quite cool (and must have taken a long time to do).
Ok, so I need to work out how to disable the sleep option on Win7 (and I mean when the sleep option is picked from the options when you can turn the machine off.
The reason why I ask - I've donated my old machine to my parents - and well my Dad can seemily break a PC by looking at it, anyways...
So, the time has come, da-da-dah!!!
Time for my new PC, my current PCS machine is about 3 years old and has served me well but is now struggling
So, here is the spec I'm thinking of
Case
COOLERMASTER CM690 MKII ADVANCED CASE
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-4770 (3.4GHz)...
I found a fun article on the BBC news page:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-21116544
It pretty much shows female gamers have been around just as long as male gamers :)
Hope I'll still be gaming at that age (presuming I'm still alive of course)
Well, after many years of using the same crappy crappy old desk, I've finally got myself a new desk and organised stuff :)
So, the old mess:
And the much better looking new setup :)
Yes, I know its a bit dark, the pics were taken with a crappy camera phone, and this room has only 2 40W...
Ok, so I wouldn't normally praise Apple, especially after all their latest arguing over stupid patents over phone technology, but it must be said I'm awesomely happy with them this afternoon.
I've had an iPod Nano for ages - its a first generation one, so I've had it nearly 8 years - and this...
Haha!
This is awesome, one site is now charging you if you choose to use IE7.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-18440979
And yes IE7 is a complete PITA to code for, it works differently to ever other browser out there including other versions of IE
Ok, so when I got my PC last year, I should've got a bigger better hard drive, but at that point I didn't know that a bigger cache meant faster (hindsight is such a wonderful thing ...) and I certainly didn't know that my game would be offline for 2 weeks meaning I would suddenly be downloading...
Ok, now I'm annoyed, that PlayStation hack that took down PSN last weekend has now affected PC games too :(, SOE (Sony Online Entertainment) have taken down all their services, on a bank holiday Monday as well (how rude!)

I know it was down at 10...
Ok, I have a weird thing happening on my PC.
Background:
On the start menu in Windows 7 it has this lovely games folder where it seems to work out what are games and puts them in the menu, I have it so the games folder expands on the start menu cos I'm lazy.
The game I spend most of my time...
Ok, so I seem to have a very weird microphone issue with my PC,
brief PC specs: i7-930 CPU, ASUS® P6X58D-E. mobo, 1GB GTX460, 6GB Samsung RAM.
The microphone with the issue is part of a Logitech C500 webcam
Ok, so the issue is, I turn my PC on after work, start various things, and at some point...
Well, I always knew willpower was overrated :)
But as a bonus to the failure of my willpower, I will be getting a spangly new 24" Iiyama LED monitor in the next day or two :).
I'm hoping I got it ordered in time for dispatch today (fingers crossed), it's time to finally retire my 6-7 year old...
