    PCSPECIALIST 11800H or 5900HX (Recoil 15.6")

I bought the Recoil 15" with the Intel and 3080 and all I can say is this thing runs HOT! GPU averages around 85'c and CPU 87'c-90'c while gaming on ultra settings. Perhaps not surprising given the parts inside but just thought worth mentioning. I'm yet to undervolt or get a cooling pad...

    PCSPECIALIST Recoil 15" 3080 temps

Thanks @SpyderTracks and @AgentCooper, appreciate your help. Do the temps sound too high to you? Also is there a simple guide to undervolting my CPU? Slightly nervous of messing it up and breaking the laptop! Will look into cooling pads though as well. Also is there a simple guide to fan control...

    PCSPECIALIST Recoil 15" 3080 temps

Hi all, received my laptop (specs below) on Saturday and have been playing around with some games on it. Playing Witcher 3 on Ultra settings it runs like a dream but have been monitoring temps with HWMonitor and Afterburner and it's averaging around 82-87'c on the CPU (occasional spikes up 96'c)...

    PCSPECIALIST Recoil 15.6 Review with 11th gen i7 & RTX 3080 16gb

Hi Davsob, thanks for this. I'm thinking of buying almost the exact same laptop and would be really interested in some pictures of it to show thickness and style of laptop if you have time to post some? I've seen a few on the forums but nothing side on and from lots of other angles. Thanks!

PCSPECIALIST New gaming laptop - advice appreciated

Before I press go on the above, is it worth waiting for the AMD/3080 configuration to be back in stock? I spoke to PCS yesterday and they said they currently have no ETA on the AMD/3080 laptops (I gather the CPU and GPU are soldered to the motherboard) hence why you can't currently mix and match...

PCSPECIALIST New gaming laptop - advice appreciated

About to press the order button on the spec below - any issues people can see? In case helpful, it's mainly for gaming to play latest games on very good settings and for some years to come, needs to be fairly portable but battery life is not an issue. I don't have much in the way of storage...

thanks @Steveyg - really helpful. So would the below be sensible? Or something else? 1st M.2 SSD Drive - 500GB Samsung Evo Plus 2nd M.2 SSD Drive - 1TB PCIe M.2 SSD Also why is there an option for Enmotus on the 1st M.2 slot and not the 2nd M.2 slot?

Shameless bump on the very boring HDD question I had above! :)

PCSPECIALIST New gaming laptop - advice appreciated

Can I also ask some dumb questions about which harddrives to get and in which configuration? Is it best to get a cheaper larger 1tb SSD for the 1st M.2 SSD Drive slot and then a better branded smaller (like 500GB) SSD for the 2nd slot and put your OS and games on the smaller faster one? I...

PCSPECIALIST New gaming laptop - advice appreciated

Thanks @LizardSoul. One other question you or others may be able to help with - I have seen some people build and order the Recoil 15" with a Ryzen CPU and the 3080. However when I try and select that combo, it tells me I cannot combine those two. Is this just due to a lack of parts or is it...

PCSPECIALIST New gaming laptop - advice appreciated

    strange, it only gives me these two CPU options at config and after I select the intel one, the 980 isn't mentioned in the SSD options? AMD Ryzen™ 9-5900HX 3.3GHz, 4.6GHz Turbo 16MB 8 16 N/A Intel® Core™ i7-11800H 2.4GHz, 4.6GHz Turbo 24MB 8 16 N/A

thanks @SpyderTracks and @Macco26 - really helpful. Sorry for the perhaps dumb question but I am not sure I understand the PCIe Gen 4 or 3 comments. I.e. which of the drop down HDDs is a Gen 4 version? thanks

PCSPECIALIST New gaming laptop - advice appreciated

Hi all, I am considering buying a new gaming laptop. Principle use is gaming, budget c.£2,000 and 15" screen preferred. Doesn't need to be that portable (my last gaming laptop was an X7200 lol) and wondered what you thought of the spec below? Looking for it to last for a while and play stuff...

    PCSPECIALIST Gaming laptop

Can I check something on the Vyper GPU options. When it says 2070 Super - is that 2070 Super Max-Q or 2070 Super Mobile? Also any timing update on when chassis other than the Nova will be available with AMD CPUs? Appreciate this might be difficult to answer! Many thanks

    Ok thank you

    PCSPECIALIST Gaming laptop

Thanks @SpyderTracks. Again may be a dumb question but is the reason the Nova is a bit thicker down to the AMD CPU or just something else in there that's making the chassis thicker compared to the say the other chassis that are c.20-27mm thick ? thanks again

    PCSPECIALIST Gaming laptop

Can I ask, (and forgive the ignorance!), is it likely that any laptop in the PCS range other than the Nova will get the AMD Ryzen CPUs? Thanks
