Sorry, took me a few days to get some decent photos. As I mentioned I've kept the actual rig relatively sedate in terms of RGB, and my desk is rarely this neat... Super happy with the purchase (albeit i'd have stuck to the 3080 if it wasn't for the multi-month wait)
Just wanted to say thanks to some of the mods for their config advice on my (upgraded to 3090) rig, specifically Agent Cooper and Spider. Rig made it over safe and is settling in nicely. Playing Cyberpunk at a steady 100+ fps on maxed out ultra 1440p / 144mhz is pretty shiny!
Good luck to all...
Depends on your CPU (e.g. 59XX series) but if you're now in an "all parts in stock" mode, you'll get put into the Build queue and given your wait time I imagine you'll move into the building very quickly. Worth double checking that your case and PSU are still in stock.
You need to be careful with that number as it get artificially inflated every time a new batch of GTX 3070s or 3080s drop and they address orders with 70+ waiting days.
There's also no priority for higher cost builds vs cheaper ones if all components on stock. It's solely on order date
I got three of these emails over the course of 15 calendar days. First two were for 25/1 build date, then it shifted to 22/1 on the last one (received on Sunday). I went into build on the evening of the 19/1 so there's hope for you yet!
I went into the building this morning!!
EDIT: I guess it must have been last night as I’m also already in testing. Looks like PCS must have folks working on some pretty late shifts
Looks like the 3090 just went back into pre-order on the configurator. Not sure what that means for people who have already switched, but something to keep an eye on.
Oops I regret switching off the 1000W RMi now... but it sounds like the 850W RM will be fine anyway and it saved me a bit of cash.
Finger crossed dude and keep us updated.
Sorry last question on what is becoming a lecture on PSUs from AC. What would be the theoretical downside of say massively overspec'ing your PSU (e.g. 1200W+) beyond the increased purchase price? Is it bad for a PSU to be typically operating far below its peak? Internet seems to say not really.
Actually that's not right, the RMi series has just completely disappeared from the configurator (if you start a new build). I was also on the 1000W RMi and I suspect that like me that option is sitting at the very bottom of your amend configurator beyond the 1200W and 1600W. It's the same issue...
Yeah the 1000W have gone out of stock in the past few days, including the RMX, AX and the RMi (which isn't even listed anymore). It's possible it's a temporary blip but for now i've switched to an 850W RM. I'll keep an eye on it and see if they come back.
Thanks AC. I've read there's quite a few little upgrades in the RMx but didn't have the context on whether it was "nice to have" vs "must have". Assuming 850W RM is a better idea than a 750W RMx given my components?
