It's a good bit faster and has more VRAM according to : (this is a good site for comparing gpu's). The more the better for MSFS if you're using it at 4K with in game options turned up, but I think a 3080 would be ok for this too and is more budget friendly. About the 4000 series Nvidia's...
I'm not sure if that's a typo but the Z690 is not a graphics card it's a motherboard.
To me your spec looks ok but I see you'll be playing MSFS at high res....it would make a significant difference if you could stretch to a 3080 graphics card, MSFS eats GPU VRAM.
I can barely see it but what I have seen the H100i cooler might be not quite up to it especially if you're overclocking, consider the H115 or H150.
When you spec a Corsair cooling solution you don't need aftermarket thermal paste as this comes with the Corsair cooler.
Opt for the Silver warranty...
About Gigabyte/Asus AM5 mobo's here's some interesting info/opinion here :
These are more budget orientated boards but I think he'll be releasing a vid soon covering a wider price range.
I actually bought a 13900KS equipped PC on here the other day but after receiving advice on these forums refunded it in favour of buying a Ryzen 7000 X3D equipped pc next month (when they release). If your PC is mainly for gaming I'd advise you to consider doing similar. The X3D chips will...
I'm sure others will be able to offer more advice than me but 1 thing sticks out, the cpu. If you're gaming then the upcoming Ryzen 7000 X3D cpu's will be ideal, they release next month. You'll need to spec a new motherboard and RAM to go with it as it's a different architecture.
Also, what's...
Yeh I lost £ on most of them only to see them sky rocket in value, ah well. Thing is I don't have a garage to put them in so if I'd have kept them long enough to sell them on they'd be rotting away by now. Great memories no regrets about owning them.
Content Manager for AC is an alternative to...
i haven't seen an official amd website say it but it's all over the forums/net etc in articles such as :
https://www.pcgamer.com/amds-lopsided-ryzen-x3d-cpus-need-to-be-told-which-games-want-more-cache-or-higher-clock-speeds/
i believe it.
i enjoy power oversteer in PC2, it reacts very similar...
Yes and that is correct for 1 of the 2 CCD's on the chip, but the v-cached cores/CCD which will be used for gaming are running at 5GHz max. Some would say (me) it's slightly sneaky marketing by AMD :D. They're saying that Windows/apps like WinZip etc will use the 5.6/5.7GHz cores.
I tried...
Afaik all the X3D cpu's v-cached cores run at 5GHz and it's because of some physical limitation like heat build up. I don't think they're nerfing the 7800 so it performs less, it's just a limitation. But I agree that it makes sense the higher end chips perform better, maybe they will do at...
Afaik the 7900 is only 5.6GHz on 6 of it's cores (the non v-cached cores), the v-cached cores are 5 same as the 7800. But the 7800 has 8 v-cached cores. How this plays out in real terms, time will tell. Sensible thing for me to do would be to wait until reviews but doubt I will :D
Just seen...
I think I'm going for the 7800X3D as I'm not bothered about productivity etc, only gaming. So you're into VR too? I love VR it's my main hobby, I have a Quest 2 and 8KX. I'm rocking an i7 7700K with a 4090 so as you can see I need an upgrade. Roll on X3D release!
