PCSPECIALIST The return of the i7 Cosmos 17.3"

To be honest, the spec posted was the original. I did amend it to do away with the 960GB Adata in favour of the SX6000 on the second M2 menu. I have just been back in and tried to reconfigure as per your suggestion and the message came back stating that the i5 / internal gpu does not support...

PCSPECIALIST The return of the i7 Cosmos 17.3"

Thanks for the swift reply Processing raw images using Lightroom, nothing too heavy and largely working on one image at a time.

PCSPECIALIST The return of the i7 Cosmos 17.3"

So the 17.3" Cosmos has returned with an i7 CPU and better still an IPS screen. This would do me just fine for showing my photo's to as good a standard as I can afford. The withdrawal of the 17.3 earlier last month has forced my hand in ordering the 15.6" version with the more inferior screen...

PCSPECIALIST A bit underwhelmed with high-res screen options

Hi I will be buying a new laptop shortly for (largely) photo editing and I would have preferred a glossy screen, unfortunately no options there either. Have you checked out the Octane series, they have 4k options with the GPU that you have mentioned?

    PCSPECIALIST Laptop review (Octane 17.3)

Thanks for posting this review. In reading through it has raised one or two concerns for me. They are as per your two disappointments ie " I was disappointed to see that the ram was not put in paired slots". Does this mean that you had to dismantle the laptop and insert components? Secondly...

    PCSPECIALIST Final check

Hi Oussebon I am not too tech savvy, I was under the impression the OS and program files were kept separate. Would it be ok just to do away with the partition and let it roll? Thanks

    PCSPECIALIST Final check

Ok, so I think I am ready to press the button and get this spec ordered. I did post a spec a short while ago and Ubuysa offered some excellent advice, all of which I have taken except I have gone for a better spec GPU than advised. My main use for this laptop is the editing of photos using...

    PCSPECIALIST 180W or 230W adapter?

Just press proceed on your quote and the system will prompt you as to what you need. I think it is determined by your GPU choice.

PCSPECIALIST Advice please - image editing using Adobe Lightroom

All noted and will be incorporated. One final question please. What size partition would you recommend for Windows 10 on the 1TB SSD? Many thanks!

PCSPECIALIST Advice please - image editing using Adobe Lightroom

Hi Ubuysa Thanks for the suggestions, however your responses have raised more questions.... sorry I will stick with the 32GB for the time being as there are times when alterations can be made to a batch, so I will retain that ability with the "overkill". I take your point about the HDD being...

PCSPECIALIST Advice please - image editing using Adobe Lightroom

Hello All I have very little idea in building a spec as will probably be made obvious by my choices. My intended use is to edit RAW image files circa 100MB each and store them (at least temporarily), and general use. I will not be gaming at all! I have chosen a slow drive as this will be for...

PCSPECIALIST Any pointers would be gratefully received

Hello All I have been monitoring these pages for a while and I am finally going to take the plunge and buy myself a new laptop (portability). I am in the process of buying a new camera which will capture images up to 75MB each. I would thus like to renew my laptop to cope with processing these...
