PCSPECIALIST Curved monitor.. Is it worth it?

That one you have selected looks OK for the money. It's a little lower than I would like frequency wise, but given it's faster than what you currently have it should suit your needs if you're not looking for moaarr frames. The size of the screen isn't going to be the same as having 2 screens...

PCSPECIALIST Curved monitor.. Is it worth it?

What monitors is it you currently have? £300 is around the budget for an entry level 1440p gaming monitor. I don't think you're going to tick many boxes in the replacement of 2 screens. What is it you are currently considering? There are pros for gaming for sure, the wrap around of a super...

PCSPECIALIST 9800X3D Global Failures - 100+ since November

It may just be an expected rate of failure tbh. It would come down to %ages. I think the strange thing is how quickly the failures are happening but time will tell I guess.

PCSPECIALIST 9800X3D Global Failures - 100+ since November

I wasn't aware of any issues until I spotted this today. Obviously it's not a systematic issue, but still worth knowing about. ASRock getting the headlines but could be through popularity/value as I know those boards were offering the best bang for buck at one point...

PCSPECIALIST Ryzen 7 9800X3D next month?

You're way behind. 8K became reality with the 3090, I remember the promo's. You should be aiming for around 32K by now.... at least. Get it on a 28" screen though, so that you can really appreciate the detail with the naked eye.

PCSPECIALIST Ryzen 7 9800X3D next month?

Now that's fantastic. I can't be the only one worried that certain audiences are going to miss the satire part though :ROFLMAO:

PCSPECIALIST Logitech race wheel and USB 2.0 conundrum

There's definitely something strange. I have a full Fanatec system going through a USB hub at the same time as a USB kicker type pillow, Flight stick and also a motion rig. It took a bit of testing to get the right USB hub, but once I had it in place it's been brilliant. As above there should...

PCSPECIALIST Just ordered the most expensive laptop I never thought I'd need.

There's a frustration that you have to be aware of. The queries are already considered, the advice given and the reasons and justification is provided along with it all. Re-visiting the same queries is just going to get the same answer, only more pointed as the thread has already been there. As...

PCSPECIALIST Help with diagnosing dead PC

In your shoes I would remove all connections that aren't required for a boot, remove the CPU and remove the RAM. Switch it on and see what happens. You should get a RAM/CPU warning. It won't post or anything like that but it should give error lights. If it reboots and goes through the process...

    PCSPECIALIST Lockdown - What's Worth a Watch?

Started watching this the other night. Seems right up my street. Good timing so that I've got plenty to catch up on too :D

PCSPECIALIST Spec for a productivity machine with a tiny bit of gaming

There are 2 ports on the motherboard for direct connection. HDMI and DP, as long as your monitors can take these connections then you can connect 2 screens no problem. If either of them are incompatible you can get cables that are, but you would be in the same position with a dedigated GPU...

PCSPECIALIST Spec for a productivity machine with a tiny bit of gaming

You could lower the PSU to the 850w RMx, on the non-gaming offerings, without any issues at all (or even the RMe) but given the small outlay I would stick with the 1000w offering.

PCSPECIALIST Spec for a productivity machine with a tiny bit of gaming

This would be for 1440p gaming, but would require a new monitor to support it. Case FRACTAL NORTH TG GAMING CASE (BLACK) Processor (CPU) AMD Ryzen 7 9700X Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-5.5GHz/40MB CACHE/AM5) Motherboard ASUS® TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, M.2 PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7) Memory (RAM)...

PCSPECIALIST Spec for a productivity machine with a tiny bit of gaming

Removing gaming completely drops you to sub £1500. Also removing the firewire card would hit £1400. Case FRACTAL NORTH TG GAMING CASE (BLACK) Processor (CPU) AMD Ryzen 7 9700X Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-5.5GHz/40MB CACHE/AM5) Motherboard ASUS® TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, M.2 PCIe 5.0...

PCSPECIALIST Spec for a productivity machine with a tiny bit of gaming

Without the gaming requirement and with just editing family videos I think you're over-shooting by quite some way. The spec you have listed above is a production monster and a 1440p gaming monster as well. That rig would really need a decent monitor for it to be considered worthwhile. I've...
