In light of all the intel news that has come out today, I've (hopefully) cancelled an order with pcspecialist and am looking to have some advice on what I should look to now.

Any advice on an AMD equivalent I can look for? I have been looking into it today but I am not as clued up on amd as I've been intel most of the time of my PC life.
Yeah I'd have to redo it all. Doesn't help as I ordered through work and I'll have to sort all that again.
Would changing to a 12th gen be acceptable? I've heard they're doing an update that could fix it, could I not just NOT use it till it is released?
