Will try that if the restarts continue would prefer not to though, i know its flaky but between profiles and power management (wireless) its useful. we'll see
thanks for your help guys
True but unlikely the below are going to save the day, but won't rule it out.
I've updated the chipset drivers now as they were very out of date and removed AI suite, i'll get the windows update done and see how it goes.
pretty sure i installed the chipset drivers manually but will take a look.
Noticed a service that seemed to be occurring around the crash which was iomap64.sys which seems to be related to ASUS AI suite so i've uninstalled that.

Hi All
Looking for some troubleshooting advice please.
PC has been randomly locking up and rebooting, has been happening with more frequency recently, was 2-3 a week now 1-2 a day.
As far as a I can recall it only seems to happen when I'm not gaming.
I can't recreate the issue seems...
Can't get an FPS counter through GOG, and steam overlay not working.
It's smooth though, i turned off RTX in favour of Ultra graphics, i preferred the better looks in textures etc vs the difference RTX to visually and impact on FPS.
although haven't tested RTX since the last patch or 2.
luckily...
Not had an issue with it, temps don’t go above 70 while playing cyberpunk, hard to tell exactly where the noise is coming from I think the case fans make more noise. But I often play with headphones.
I’m playing 1440p so easily copes with what I’m playing
Was assuming that went directly into a USB header on the mobo?
Hope not really really dont want to undo the tidy wiring.

Hi All
Got my new machine, all working great except that the AIO is not being recognised by iCUE, I am getting a Rainbow wave on the fans and the pump but I cannot control them, mobo, ram, keyboard etc is picked up ok.

Hi all
New pc is finally dispatched and arriving tomorrow!
Thanks for the help and advice on my spec. Particularly @Nursemorph & @AgentCooper
Was concerned i should have switched to a 6800 but hopefully won't be disappointed with 3070.
Was surprised (and slightly concerned) how quickly it...
@Nursemorph & @ubuysa that's the thing, I've worked in Software for 15 years, Norton will struggle to shake off their old rep and rightly so; their software historically was criminally resource hungry, but their new products are much better and slowly being recognised.
P.s. I don't work for...
Thanks all, definitely will try it without 3rd party AV, and will be doing a clean install. Not sure i would drop Norton tbh, and Norton results for 360 are very good.
No was running AVG, recently using Norton, new products are very good and I get them free through work.
been happening with either installed so doubt it’s AV related.
