Warranty on Gaming Pc question

hi i have been offered a PCSpecialist gaming pc someone claims to have won in a competition recently via Currys ( currys sell pcspecialist gaming pcs) they got it about 10 days ago and decided that as they will need a 4k monitor to make the most of it costing maybe £1000 they wanted to sell it,

anyway i tried getting help from currys but the chat was likely to some1 in india who wasnt much help,

so .. if i were to buy this PC ( worth £2850 but being offered for hundreds less than that ) would i be able to use the warrantys if and when i needed to ?? or would they be tied to the person the pc was sent to ( lets say they live in northamptonshire ) and i live in Cambridgeshire , its not feasible for me to take the pc to them if/when anything needed fixing

please confirm if the seller does fill in a transfer of ownership form that that means the warrantys then end up in my name thanks

I would suggest that they register it with PCS, then fill out a transfer of ownership form when you porcupine it off them, this will then give you full access to drivers and sultry etc, without that I wouldn't touch it

In addition to the above, before purchasing that system, I would post the full specs here on the forum so that someone can ensure that it is not the typical badly built pre-assembled system with no room for future upgrades.

I would also suggest you to provide the requested information in the discussion below so that we can better advise you.

Yes, as expected, the MB is very low-end, the PSU, presuming it's an ATX 3.1, is barely the minimum for current specs but has no room for future upgrades, the PCS cooler is low quality, and prone to failure, and the single 2TB M.2 is unknown (possibly PCS branded too).

Personally, I would not buy it; for that price, you can build a system that is much better value and will last at least 5–7 years.

It would be really helpful if you could answer the questions in the post above, including your maximum budget, the monitor you will use, and the purpose of the PC.

PS. PS. If the PSU is an old standard ATX 2.4, it's simply insufficient to power and handle that PC.

well the £2850 pc is being offered to me for £2000 delivered to me ( as seller is close to me ) , i am a youtuber but dont tend to edit videos, so new pc i want to be powerful enough to edit 1080p videos and some 4k videos , im not a gamer yet but tempted to maybe get a game or 2, i want to be able to watch 1080p and 4k videos without the pc crashing, i use a ton of software for all sorts of things

current pc is 12-13yrs old now ( a different brand of pc to this site so not sure i can name it ) intel i7 quad core was overclocked to 4.5gb when new , win10 , water cooled, ssd, nzxt thing on front showing temps etc but thats failing , headphone jack become trouble now so blutac to try hold headphones in ok , 3d capable monitor ( but as avatar is the only film worth watching in 3d not bothered about having another 3d monitor etc )

graphics card failed years ago so i removed it and for the most part i can play 1080p videos on it ok but sometimes it crashes, and 4k videos will crash the pc ! i watch a lot of sports live streams, listen to music on it , need decent sound quality ,

Budget hrmm well £2000 is probably as much as i should spend but could maybe stretch it to £3k thank you for pointing out parts you dont think are good

to help me choosing a pc could you explain why that motherboard is low end ? and therefore what i should go for ? thank you
