PCS have generally been very forthcoming when I have contacted them this has noticeably not been the case
re.: the new Recoil 18". There have been errors on the page (Thunderbolt 4 mixed with 5 that I have helped them with)
I recently sent tech dept:

Detailed Specification says:Supports up to DDR5 4000MHz
Yey you can configure up to 5600MHz
Is this right.

What is the benefit of the relative low speed ram in this top notch laptop.
Are you going to provide more?

No Gen 5 Storage in configurator?

Detailed Specs: No Nvid optimus, elsewhere advanced nvid optimus whats the low down?

Mux switch or equiv present; I want dedicated GPU direct to screen is this poss.

The reply I got was frankly insulting.

Any comments on the above from anyone knowledgeable much appreciated

What comments are you looking for?

This model hasn’t been released yet and we have no idea what components PCS will match with it, theyre the only ones who can answer this for you.

An idea re.: componenets is in the configurator.

It's impossible to comment because, as @SpyderTracks previously said, this model has yet to be released.

If you need advice on a laptop configuration, please take a look at this and provide all relevant informations.

So have already explained why that's not anything we can give. None of us work for PCS, they don't frequent the forum, you'd need to speak with them directly about this kind of thing.

I disagree with where you are coming from relative to what I have written in my original post.
No compulsion on you but you could have looked at the configurator; at this moment you could preorder it.
I certainly don't want to get involved in any argumentative.
Lets leave it here.
have a nice day all.

I'm not sure how this specifically relates to the 275hx. But I know that with the 13th gen CPU's with ddr5, if you're using 4 slots with each stick single ranked (32gb per stick) the max speed you can achieve is 4000mt/s. you can have faster speeds with less sticks, but the limitation is the dual channels. So it all depends of how much RAM you need and whether to get 2 sticks of large fast ram, or 4 sticks which will run slower.

The intel spec sheet for the 275HX confirms this although doesn't give the numbers. I believe you can also get faster speeds with XMP ram using 4 slots, but don't take my word on that.

I think there's a fair bit getting lost in translation here. We understand the questions you're asking, and there is definitely information in the detailed specification that contradicts itself, but as none of us work for PCS, we couldn't give you an acceptable answer, it would just be guesswork.

I just thought respecting the knowledge I see from people in the forum that you might have been able to give an informed opinion rather than guess; for example as to the relatively low speed ram (as I've seen elsewhere actually in a similar configuration) offered.
More in the configurator (5,600MHz) actually than in the detailed specs that sets a speed limit of 4000MHz. As you say there are contradictions that are in fact being slowly sorted.

No problems.
Have a nice day.

Thanks. The configurator will tell you (presuming its programmed correctly) when you press Proceed after an actual or trial configuration
if PCS suss a compatibility problem. I respect their expertise and whilst can not from memory confirm this one way or another possible compatibility problems may have been nipped in the bud in terms of what you can choose.
It is a short trip from the forum to that page.
Thanks again.

The RAM speed offered has no bearing on what the board or CPU support, it's what PCS test in house and determine they are willing to offer and support. None of us would have any clue, not down to ignorance or not being bothered, but because none of us work for them, so have absolutely no idea what they are interested in offering.

Similarly with screens, the panels are modular, any SI can offer whatever panel they choose, and there are many different manufacturers and models to choose from. Again, we would have zero clue what PCS would choose to fit, and it's also very possible that choice may change at any time too.

SI's are independent of each other, what each one chooses to offer in terms of component choices, BIOS and Master Driver is all completely up to them and often different across SIs

Ok Spyder
I don't wont to take this any further; please respect this. This is the second time I have said this after a reply from you.

I quote: from Detailed Specs on the purchase page:

"Memory Type
Supports up to DDR5 4000MHz"

Yet in the Configurator you can opt for 5000MHz

This does not seem to me to be having no bearing on what the board or CPU support.

but then I have advantage over you in that with same question (among others) I got direct from the tech dept:

"we only list RAM that is compatible with the laptop model."

Kind Regards

Haqeel Yasin

I don't know how you read English but this to me did not explain why said supported memory to 4000MHz and thus my enquiry to the forum.

Please don't feel with respect to my original post that you need say anything more to me.

thx

which told me nothing
