What will you be using the PC for? What is your budget? What monitor will you be using (make and model or resolution and refresh rate}? Where are you getting Windows from?

I have a key for Windows I was given a few months ago. Assuming I'll be able to do some from of USB wizardry using the PC I have now.

Budget is around 2k really, but is flexible. Monitor is TBD.

Main use is gaming, with a fair bit of use for playing media (hence the 4TB spinning hard drive)

Make certain that it's a genuine Windows product key and not one bought off the Internet for a few Pounds. :)

If you use a non-genuine key then Microsoft will eventually find you and will stop all updates to that system. In addition, because PCS are Microsoft partners, we cannot offer support on these forums for Windows systems activated with non-genuine product keys.

It's a legit one. A mate was given a Professional and Home one through work and only used the Pro.

I'm mainly concerned if I've made any real clangers. Wrong case, motherboard, much better storage options available, power supply size etc.

I spent a good few hours putting this together yesterday afternoon, but I'm still pretty clueless and this can be a very complex subject.

If it's through work it's likely a volume license in which case he isn't able to sell it, it has to be used by people in that company.

I highly doubt it's a volume license as he doesn't work for a company. There's only 3 of them and technically (and legally) they're self-employed freelancers. Make a fortune though.

I appreciate the concern about the legitimacy of the my Windows purchase. Can anyone help with the build?

What spec of monitor will you be buying? The 3080 needs a big budget monitor to be worthwhile (4K 144 Hz or Samsung G9). Assuming that you will buy a monitor suitable for the 3080, I would go for something like this. I have improved storage, PSU and cooling and paid for that by reducing the price of the case.
