I didn't really believe all that they said about PCS not providing a clean install. But after I did a clean install myself, I saw day and night differences. It's worth the effort and took me around 20 minutes.
Did you use the usb method? if so is it just the case of downloading the windows media creation tool onto it then running?I didn't really believe all that they said about PCS not providing a clean install. eed/want to download and install the latest graphic
Thank you very much! just a quick question, sorry. I'm having trouble with the Delete all UEFI partitions on the system drive (EFI System, Recovery, MSR Reserved, Primary) part. Will that be included as part of running the custom install or do I need to do that separately before?I followed @Martinr36 method.
Clean install instructions:
Download a new copy of Windows using the Media Creation Tool to an 8GB (min) USB.
Boot that USB and choose a Custom Install.
Delete all UEFI partitions on the system drive (EFI System, Recovery, MSR Reserved, Primary).
Select the unallocated space that results and click the Next button. The installer will create the correct partitions and install Windows.
Run Windows Update repeatedly, even across reboots, until no more updates are found.
You may need/want to download and install the latest graphics driver from the Nvidia/AMD website (they change so regularly the latest version isn't always in the Windows libraries).
It’s the first part of the windows installerThank you very much! just a quick question, sorry. Hi, Sorry I finally got my usb to install the tool. I have now fully re-installed windows but I didn't have the option for the partitions when going through the set-up? Is this a problem? Everything has been uninstalled on the pc.It’s the first part of the windows installer
Did you select a Custom Install as advised? That's where you get to delete all UEFI partitions. You may be OK but if you still get issues I would redo the install and delete those partitions.Hi, Sorry I finally got my usb to install the tool. Yeah I realised after typing it that i'd done it wrong, I have now done it right. The only issue i'm having is when looking at this pc I can only see my ssd not my other drive?Did you select a Custom Install as advised? That's where you get to delete all UEFI partitions.
