Streaming PC

I did try using CPU. But was still having issue. But i was reading up about it, Everyone says GPU is better option as its got a encoder chip or something built inside. When i been watching few top streamers, They all all using GPU.

I would suggest that tells you that you have it configured incorrectly. If everyone else is managing to do it the way you are looking to, and you are having trouble, it's down to the way it's configured.

I have a 2080 and I've done recording, rather than streaming, with OBS. Never had an issue in all honesty.

Have you considered the upload speed of your internet struggling with 6Mb/s?

I would check the number convention of your bitrate. If it's 6000Kb/s then that would suggest that 35mb is ok, however, if it's 6000KB/s then it's nowhere near enough.

As a test, slightly separate, you could simply try saving to HDD instead of streaming and see if you get any encoding issues. Best to rule all your side of things out before chasing zebras :)

My Output setup for OBS IS Set at

Encoder-Nvenc New
Rate Control-CBR
Bitrate-6000
Keyframe Interval-2
Preset-Max Quality
Profile-High
Look Ahead-Checked.
Psycho Visual Tuning-Checked.
Max B Frames 2

X264
Rate Control CBR
BitRate 6000
Keyframe Interval 2

Tune none.

I Been messing with CPU usage aswell.

I Even posted on reddit. Asked someone to help. They got same build.. Who streams, I put same stuff in, I still have issues.
Like i say. OBS using 50%+ gpu or cpu no matter which encoder i use. But nothing wrong with internet.

There's something amiss somewhere as a 3900x and a 3080 should be able to breeze streaming and playing...I know people streaming from 3900xs with lesser GPUs who stream and game with ease.

You mention you have been posting on Reddit, have you posted on the OBS forum?

Yes Posted on OBS Forum, OBS in discord. I posted that link

Analyzer | OBS (obsproject.com)

Where it shows 5.3% Encoder Overload. The encoder is skipping frames because of CPU overload. Read about General Performance and Encoding Issues.
I have read about general performance. Done what it says

I been told to disable alerts.
Disable preview on obs when streaming.
Remove camera to see if it runs better

Still having issues.

I have uninstalled obs and re-installed. re added everything. Still Same.

I done speedtest and no issues with internet.

Obs team gave me a step by step and told me how to set up. Still same.

So i used my old computer that i gave my mate with i7 7700k 1070ti installed and tried dual set-up. Well. That works fine.

OBS Team are abit confused as they can't think of anything else. They also told me my obs shouldn't be using 50%+ Gpu or 50%+ CPU
Even when i got games on lowest settings.

I would go the whole hog and do a clean install from scratch. There’s obviously something not configured right on the system.

Agree with the above.

Download the latest chipset drivers from AMD
Download the latest Nvidia 3k Series drivers from NVidia
Download the latest Windows image from M$ via the Installation Media Creation Tool

Create bootable USB using the Media Creation Tool from M$
Once finished, copy over the chipset drivers and GPU drivers onto the USB
Boot the USB
Delete everything on the primary drive, delete all partitions (only on the drive you have Windows on)
Allow installation to complete
Install Chipset drivers & reboot as required
Install GPU drivers & Reboot as required
Install Windows updates, repeat multiple times until no updates are available
Install OBS and take it from there.

Right. I have done that. Done all latest updates. etc. Installed The Medium Game and OBS. I Have set encoding up via X264. I streamed for an hour. No issues at all. Steady 60fps no drops. At 6000 Bitrate and no drops. I was running AMD Ryzen master in background. When doing both streaming and gaming for an hour CPU Temp was running around 85-90c Is that good or bad.

It's quite high but I imagine you are working the CPU quite hard also.

Do you have iCue installed? What settings are the cooler, chassis fans, etc set at?
Have you tried running the cooler on extreme?

The temps are most likely down to the "Quiet" profile. When I'm AAA VR gaming I set mine to extreme across all 3, when I'm just gaming at 1080p I opt for balanced across all 3. When I'm just pottering about online and such I opt for Quiet.

I would definitely look to set up all of your cooling options in line with your uses.

Just for an "extreme" test, set the lot to extreme, maximise everything and give the system a hammering. See what your peak temps are on the CPU/GPU and then set them all to balanced... re-run and see how that looks. Just find yourself a happy balance.

Hi. I just done a 15min Quick stream test With both H115i Fans on extreme and the pump on extreme. No drops once again and steady 60fps. CPU temps was at 70-75c.. ended stream and turned both fans back to quiet and pump balanced. temp gone back to 49c. So i think best option to do is keep changing fans and pump to extreme everytime i game and stream then change back to both fans quiet and pump balanced :D

When considering the CPU, be aware that The Medium will push a CPU far harder than most other games, especially if you are running RTX on it...the minimum CPU the developers recommend for any level of RTX is a 3700x which shows how much CPU power it utilises (which I still don't understand given RTX is GPU based or so I thought)....add in that it's brand new and probably not 100% optimised, it could explain some of the temperature. If I was you, I would try it with a slightly less CPU demanding game and see where it's at
I turned all rtx off the medium game. TBH With u, I dont use Ray tracing on games.

Fair enough..just thought it was worth mentioning. Sounds like you have resolved the temps....I do the same with my system...fans are on the bare minimum when browsing internet, watching movies and TV etc and then get turned up when I game
I Didnt know u could keep changing fans if am honest with you. I thought it might do something to comp if i kept changing it. So i left everything at default with how PCS sent the computer out :D

So i just want to make sure now. Is the cpu temp at 70-75c With both fans and pump on extreme good for doing both streaming/gaming, Is the CPU Temps 49c with both fans to quiet and pump to balance when done gaming to browse internet good If so, Thank you to everyone that as taken the time to help me resolve the issue. I really appreciate it.

You really want to check idle temps too. They should be around room temperature even on quiet with the H115i.

Anything under 80c I would be happy with on full load.

I have been away from PC for 5min, I have nothing running in background apart from AMD Ryzen Master, Temps running around 40-44c. Then when go on internet temps goes 49-54c. Just gaming around 65c. Gaming and streaming around 70-75c
