Hey, I'm building a budget gaming PC that will last for around 3 years before upgrading is needed. I have a budget of £650 but I am spending £85 on a monitor so it's lowered to £565. Below is my build. Can it be improved whilst staying within the price range of £565? I'm not interested in Intel (not an AMD fanboy I just can't spend on intel) but I am interested in upgrading the GPU if possible.

PS: NO OS IS REQUIRED.

I don't think anyone can predict how long a system will last, for general use definitely more than 3 years but for gaming it depends on how demanding games are and the settings you expect. I would, consider at least silver warranty and the motherboard you have chosen has less expansion slots and no sata 6gb/s ports.

Apart from the motherboard and warranty does everything seems to be in check?

I think you are spot on going with an AMD CPU especially with your budget it is a must. I don't see any extra fat to be cut to allow for a better GPU unfortunately. The 7870 is probably going to start struggling sooner rather than later with the latest titles on anything close to the upper end of the settings scale. Games like crisis 3 are already very hard on it and that will only get worse and time goes on, obviously.

If you are happy to play medium and even low settings then it will last 3 years easily, well that would be my guess anyway. Games makers are not suddenly going to insist on a GTX 780 to play games because so few people have them, a 7870 is a solid mid range card that many people have and will soldier on for a long time.

I got my pc in like 2 weeks, my brother got his laptop a day or so earlier than that. So say I was 10 working days he was 8 or 9 working days. Better to wait than get a box of junk from the big chain shops IMO
