x16 or x8 PCIe

On the motherboard I selected It says 2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8)

Would I see any loss In having 2 cards in sli config on the 8x slot?

nope only if your using two dual gpu cards, and even then the loss in performance would be minimal
