Wireless connectivity is extremely slow/doesn't work

Hey guys so I ust got my computer a few hours ago and the internet was fine for about 5 minutes but now nothing will load. It says I'm connected to my router and I've turned it on and off. My laptop works perfectly fine though and it's really annoying. Sometimes I can get a page to load if I'm lucky but other than that nothing....

how far from the router is your pc?

Does your house have thick walls?

Is your router near wireless phones?

is there alot of other wireless networks in the area?

Router is not near wireless phones, there are only 1 or 2 wireless networks that I can connect to, my laptop is the same distance away from the pc but it has full bar connection and the walls aren't really thick. I don't understand how my laptop can connect perfectly but my pc can't.

hmmm, have you gone through the trouble shoot process in windows? will it connect to the router and not the to the internet? or will it not connect to the router altogether? Do you get the option to diagnose? if you do, do that, it might help.

Have you checked the antennas are connected properly?

Also you could check that win 7 is fully updated, sometimes little problems can be caused because its not. stupid i know, but sometimes it does fix little problems. (if you can connect to net)

Could you connect via ethernet cable?

have you installed the drivers for the wireless card off the disc?

hope some of this helps, if you still have problems, i'd give pcs a call.

I've checked the antennas and they are connected properly, already tried windows troubleshoot as well. It just started working again properly for like a couple of minutes but its all a bit random. Doing windows updates now then I'll reinstall the drivers see if that does anything. Thanks for the help

Oh it connects to the router and it says it's connected to the internet it's ust extremely slow and ocasionally it will say no internet access..

no worries, could be minor driver issue.

If an ethernet connection is out of the question I would invest in a set of home plugs,
wireless is a hit or a miss in my experience.

I uninstalled the drivers, and the thing actually works better without them -_-
What's up with that >_<
