I've been trying to turn my computer on the past couple of days and all it's been doing is giving me the choice to do a windows repair, after it tries to repair it's not starting properly, any ideas on how to fix this?
Can you start in safe mode,if not looks like a clean install is required or there is a hardware problem, instructions on clean install are given in the welcome booklet.
I can't do that... It just keeps restarting itself, then I get the choice to start windows normally or repair, when I repair it doesn't work, when I start normally, it loads windows, then I get a black screen, then the a blue screen comes up and it restart itself almost straight away so can't read any error codes... It's a big loop. Just don't understannnnd. It was working fine when I last used it, left it off for a couple of weeks then turned it on to this, wtffff?!
You should still be able to maniacally keep pressing F8 button during PC start and it should give you the option to go into "Safe Mode". Once there I would perform DiskCheck: http://www.w7forums.com/use-chkdsk-check-disk-t448.html
Then during next boot, it will hopefully find something wrong with drive and will fix it. Then it should be OK.. but at same time it could be something completely different. Check Event Log for any errors. Any recent software, driver updates?
if you can't start in safe mode (start the Pc and tap F8 on the keyboard, this will bring up the Boot menu, select the hard disk from the menu, as soon as you hit enter, start tapping F8 again, this will bring up the Windows advanced boot options, select safe mode.)or from the windows OS disk best give PCS a call.
If you can start in safe mode,
In safemode type msconfig in the Start Search box and then press ENTER.
On the General tab, click Selective Startup.
On the startup tab disable all.
Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.
Click apply/OK.then restart.
if pc boots ok you need to isolate the problem startup item selectively,
for example enable the top half of start up items,if computer doesn't start normally you know one of the enabled startup items is the problem and so on.
