Tbh I actually think it could be ok, although Im not sure I like the fact they have geared it towards touch more. But they still have the normal desktop too so could be interezsting. Will be installing when i get home from work, if i can find a dvd to burn it to.

ha, yeah im not too fussed for the actual content or anything, i just know this means it will mean beta soon, which means that i have to start testing. Then RC and release which means days and weeks of imaging etc not to mention they will probably bring out a new deployment toolkit etc etc etc.

I wanna have a little look, I have just seemingly been able to download 300MB in 1 minute (wtfbbq?!? I live in cumbria!) Only problem is I can't try for the moment as my laptop is DEAD and this computer is single core 1ghz proc with 512 ram.... Only good thing is it can get constant 60fps on WoW even in raids apart from darlaran (which is just death)

Not all that up to date with the current windows 8 news,
has anything been said on the rumor over emulating xbox 360 games, or well making them playable?
Orrr was that a total BS claim that just seemed to spread..
Doubt it will - Do Microsoft, of all companies want to lose further income by letting people play on computers rather than their xbox? Xbox = a lot of profit. Windows = Less profit. Xbox + Games + ???? = PROFIT

It would be stupid. Microsoft aren't doing themselves favors though even if they did it. The games will still suck as they won't have as much detail. JUST LET PCS AND XBOX PLAY 2GETHA!

my school tech guys were extremely annoyed this summer when they were told they were getting all of the school computers upgraded.... to Vista. Our school needs to drop RM as their computer supplier... I had 7 since the milestone leaks quite a bit back. Its nice but they shouldn't leap forward so quickly - or they should at least drop the price a bit.

Ours all got upgraded from XP to Windows 7 over the holidays, which is pretty sweet

I'm pretty sure most SMB's will still be in the process of moving from XP to Windows 7, so will probably skip 8. The claim that it boots in 8 seconds; is that into the desktop or just into the icon type screen ?

i can see why on a mobile device you might not want hex all over the screen but they may as well have put "your computer is broken, lol jk. just give it a reboot"
what they should put is "our OS let you down, so we've refunded you £1" they'd soon start fixing those bugs then!
