Before I give support a call.
Inserted activation key and it says no so tried the phone activation and that says no as well and cuts me off.
Anyone have any other ideas before I call support in case I'm missing something obvious ?

All I can suggest is to double check the product key,it's very easy to mistake one of the characters for another.

Yeah, you will have to double and triple check the key. The best way to do it is before you set your PC up, get some good light and copy it down and triple check its correct. Nobody does this and it results in using a torch with flat batteries trying to get a good view of that '5' or maybe its an 'S' while upside down hanging down the back of your PC.

My best advise is to drag the whole PC out, even take a picture of it with your phone and input directly from that. Never in all the time iv been here has the product key failed to work, every single time this problem arises the next post is "oh yeah I read it wrong"

That was 1st thing I did before starting to set everything up (took a photo of the sticker) as yes I have mistook a letter/ number when installing an OS on another computer years ago.
Tried 6 times now to no avail, guess it's phone call time again, lol

If the Microsoft phone activation is not allowing you to activate then you must have got the key wrong. If you entered a valid key they would not just say no.

For future reference sometimes you need another version of the installer. Same thing happened to me and i needed a PC builders version. Glad you sorted it

Do you mean System Builder? Isn't that just a different (and more expensive) licence that allows you to install OEM copies of Windows on the computers you sell (as PCS do I guess)? I didn't realise the installer itself was different? I've never used System Builder and I'd be interested to know how the installer differs from a retail copy?

Blowtorch or oxyacetylene torch? Just curious. :)

God I hope nobody reads that and thinks "hey I don't have a torch but I guess a blowtorch might give me enough light" that would certainly make for an interesting RMA...

CREE LED is the way forward when it comes to torches :) everyone should have several. I love a good torch :)

I knew it would go off topic, lol

The 1st thing I did when I unpacked it from the box was to locate the activation sticker & take a picture, much much easer before you start to set it up in the location you want it to be.

Sorry, we're easily distracted round here...

Back on topic, yes PCS should print on the side of the box "take a note of your activation code before setting your rig up" I would also add some more less helpful information but I don't think I can post it here...
