Hey guys.

But just now, i've turned it on and it's been on the Starting Windows screen for literally 5 minutes or more.. and just now it's restarted itself and its stuck on the Starting Windows screen again.

Help!

Okay I've held F8 while booting and it brings up a list of things..
Please select boot device:
P1: WDC WD1002 Im guessing this is my Western Digital HDD
P5: TSSTcorp DVDWBD SH-B123L
IBA GE Slot 00C8 v1365
Enter Setup.

What do I do?

I click that and it brings me to a fancy new Bios thing for Asus Motherboards.
temp/voltage/fanspeed etc, but no option to go into Safemode..

select the western digital hard drive from the boot menu and press enter then immediately tap the f8 key.

Ah, thanks guys.

I seemed to be getting blue screens when i fiddled with the USB ports on the back of my PC, taking stuff out etc and putting it back in made it crash. I think it's my Desk's built in USB hub.

Still not working guys. :(

I managed to get into safe mode, after trying to repair windows in the safe mode menu. that didnt work, so just now i've chosen system restore to 4 days ago when it worked perfectly, but it STILL WONT START UP.

How much have you got installed? Might be easier and quicker to do a fresh install?

I want to boot into Safe mode with networking, but for some reason it just gets to one of the last system files loading up, and then stays there and does nothing..

Actually, really stupid question here.

Have you put the Win7 disc in, and booted from the CD, then selected "Repair Windows" ?

Nah I'm trying to backup before I reinstall. I;ve got my externall HDD and I boot into safe mode. I want to open steam and use its backup feature to backup my saved data etc, but for some reason it wont open. Even working offline, I need the internet to open it for some reason in safe mode. So I want to use safe mode + networking but its still not working..

I've just booted from the Win7 CD, do I press F8 and go into safe mode or just start normally? I want to repair the startup files, not reinstall the whole OS.

Okay... I think its a device or something that I have plugged in that keeps it from starting up... I just removed all devices other than mouse/keyboard, and it's working fine.....
All I had plugged in was my External HDD and my Wireless Network Adapter... And I definately need my Wireless Adapter in the computer.. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Try booting with just the WNA and also with just the backup device. I'm going with the WNA. Drivers may well be conflicting and putting windows into an eternal loop *shrugs*. I'm by no means customer support, so can't really advise :(
