Windows 10 - Startup Apps - Selective/Normal startup

Hi,

I am just wondering if running certain apps at startup is okay.

For example, I don't have a lot of apps that load at startup, but Keepass I only use occasionally and Macrium Reflect free when I make an image/browse a backup image.

At the moment because I don't use Skype and it is disabled, I am running a “ Selective startup”.

Should I change to a “Normal startup”?

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated, please.

Thank you.

It's completely up to you on what you want to run on startup, if you don't use it, don't run it, if you want it to start when you boot the computer, then run it.

If you amend it at all, it will be a selective startup, there's nothing wrong with that, just means you haven't accepted the defaults.

Hi,

I have noticed an app listed in the Startup Apps, which is called MSASCuiL and only has a plain blue icon.

I have looked this up and it's associated with Windows Defender, but I cannot find the MSASCuiL.exe on my system.

I am currently within my 14 day trial of Malwarebytes Premium.

This only seems to appear when Windows Defender is running and this only occurs when Malwarebytes is not.

Does MSASCuiL normally appear in the Windows 10 Startup Apps?

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated, please.

Thank you.

You can't run 2 live scanners at the same time, they conflict. The idea is to immediately disable the trial of Malwarebytes, otherwise it will mess up the system.
