Will these specs be alright for playing up to date demanding PC games?

Can you post your max budget and then people can put together some more balanced specs for you which will be along the lines of a better cooling case, and a caviar black (performance drive) instead of the green which are more of a energy saving storage drive, you really won't need that 2700K and if you do not intend to overclock it you can also save money by getting 1 of the standard CPU's (K series are just unlocked ready for overclocking), unless you are doing some major HD video editing you won't need 16GB ram at the moment 4GB is enough for gaming and 8GB is good for future proofing (if the budget allows if not this is one of the cheapest and easiest upgrades to do when the time comes), next unless you are using multi monitors you won't need a 2GB GPU (good for 2 or more monitors) so a 1GB card is enough for a single monitor while i am on this bit you will also need to purchase a seperate DVI cable to link your monitor as the cheaper monitors do not come with one and don't miss out on the £5 silver warranty this will extend the 1 month collect and return to 1 year, so these are some of the things that can be improved/altered to banace the spec but if you let us know exactly what you are going to be using the PC for along with the budget people will see what they can come up with for you.

I've already ordered it, and then had the shock horror of thinking have I got the right specs. It came to £1,093 which is fine but yeah I forgot to do the Silver Warranty and get the DVI cable. Is there any way to add these two things on to my order? It is still in Pre-Production.
I'm worried if I phone up and add these items that it will take even longer to process my order? Thanks

Making amendments is pretty easy, just go to your account on the website , click on view orders and then amend your order

I should add that if your order reaches the building stage any additional changes will incur an additional £5

I've just routed around and found the 'Amend Order' button. I've purchased the DVI cable and upgraded the Warranty to Silver now, and it said the changes will be added immediately to my original order so hopefully it wont effect build times.
I don't really want to start fiddling with the rest of the components as I can imagine this will effect build time. But with the specs I have chosen the i7 2700k, 16GB Ram, 2GB Graphics Card, etc. You mentioned something about them being unbalanced. Will that mean my computer will run a bit sluggish? Cheers for your help :)

The bottleneck on the system is going to be your caviar green HDD as i said in my earlier post this is designed as a storage drive so picking the top CPU will not speed your system up it will be idle also only a few games like FSX and F1 2011 will make use of the CPU the rest of the games mainly use the GPU, tbh for a gaming machine with the budget you have you want to be putting money into a system that is well covered for the future but will also be a solid even build now.

I would have a really good think about changing it to something more like this below.

If I changed the HardDrive to the Caviar Black, will that make any difference? Or do I do need to make all those other changes too?

So if I keep the specs I have chosen right at the top, and change the HardDrive to the Caviar Black, I shouldn't have any problems?

I'm a little confused. I just been looking at the Graphics Cards, and the 1.25GB GEFORCE GTX 560Ti 448 core, is more expensive than the 2GB GEFORCE GTX 560Ti.

Yes, it is faster. You could also just get the 1GB card, you won't need 2GB unless you are gaming on multiple monitors.

dont need to cancel it, that would make the wait much longer, just adjust it so its the same as fears spec

upgrade the case to the 922 like fears

drop to the i7 2600, it will be way more than enough power

get the 1600MHz RAM if you are interested in looking inside the case, they look much better and run a bit cooler too

get the triple copper CPU cooler, great value

The memory of the GPU isn't an indicator of performance although there is a correlation, it just means it can cope with resolutions higher than 1920x1080 easier. If you aren't planning on running higher than a 1080p single monitor, the rest shouldn't matter.

The difference between the 2700k and the 2700 is that the "k" means you can overclock it. You don't currently have a cooler good enough to overclock it and so, provided you don't plan on doing it, you may as well drop to the 2700 at least. As Wozza says, if it's just gaming you want, drop to the 2600 if you want to save a bit. Nobody really needs anything more than an i5 (My new PC is in QC, i5-2500 and GTX 570) though, to be honest, is what I've been told. i7 just seems better for HD Video and stuff.

That's just my opinion anyway, I'm only new here myself, just letting you know what I discovered in my own spec refining process on PCS

Sorry to keep bothering you guys, but this is my amended order. I have changed the case to the HAF 922, but in the images provided I noticed there were no slots on the back for audio, USB etc. Whereas on the 310 Elite they were shown?
