Will preorders exceeding the expected number of production days be fast-tracked?.

Hi,

As the title stated, my order is nearing the 20th production day and is still at the pre-production state. I'm wondering if it will be processed faster than usual when the 7970M arrives (hopefully next week)?.

I would imagine there is a big pile of part-finished laptops sat waiting for 7970M cards to be fitted, and as such they will all get done within a couple of days of the cards arriving.

It'll be in PCS's best interests to get them out of the way ASAP.

I'm not sure how the laptop is assembled. But for AMD cards it's possible that the card must be soldered onto the board so other components have to wait.

I suppose calling PCS will be faster but this thread maybe useful for potentially many people waiting for the 7970M as well. I'd like to have a rough estimate of how long it'd take after the shipment arrives. I'll have to change the order to fast track if it takes another week.

Hello. There are already numerous threads on the 7970m and current eta's etc. These chassis with 7970m gpus are on route and when recieved we will get all orders for this sku out as soon as possible.

Weeks ago when talking to PCS on the phone about fast tracking my order, I was assured that any order with pre order items such as the 7970M will automatically get fast tracked anyway so there is no need to pay for it or arrange anything.

Modern laptops with dedicated graphics chips use MXM format cards. Nothing is soldered on, otherwise it wouldn't be upgradeable.
