Why is the power brick for the optimus 15'' ridiculously big?

I recently received the optimus laptop and was somewhat shocked to find that the power brick is so big and heavy! That was one of the things that put me off the vortex laptop...

Are there any lighter chargers that can be purchased!

PS: i can't make any other comments about the laptop because i bought it for someone else. However i can definitely say that pc specialist do provide excellent customer service over the phone.

Personally I wouldn't say it's bigger than what you would expect for a 120W adapter. Don't forget, this is no 45W or 65W adapter that comes supplied for low power laptops, this is a powerful adapter for a powerful laptop...

do i really need a 120W charger? my battery is of 65W, isnt that all i need?
