Why is replacement GPU so different?

Hi guys,

Since getting my PC I have been having on and off problems with the screens cutting out. PCspecialist have been really good and after some troubleshooting, I now have a replacement graphics card.

The graphics card I run is a Radeon HD7870. I used to have both my monitors plugged into this graphics card. With my new one, I can only plug one of my monitors in as the slots aren't the same. Also, the one I sent back had one fan on it, this has two fans but no copper plating? I'm confused. Is this an update to the card since I bought mine or something? I've only had it a month or two.

Not impressed that I now have to work on 1 monitor :(.

The HD 7870 is advertised as having 1 DVD, 1 HDMI and 2 mDP. What do you have in yours?

My new one has what you say above.

The old one had two of what I assume must be "DVD" slots. That's the only cable I have for my monitors to use and there is only one slot for it.

You should be able to pick up an DVI/HDMI adaptor pretty cheaply.

I meant DVI :)
If it is as advertised then you were lucking with the previous one with 2 DVI ports.
