Which shall i go for slower i7 quad core (ghz) or faster i5 dual coree (ghz)??

I was wondering which CPU to go for, an quad core i7 at 2.4ghz or an dual core i5 2.8ghz.

yes, because you have more cores

is it just for gaming? as the resolution isnt 1080p, so you may prefer a higher res screen?

Depends on your budget, for gaming you could consider the optimus V.
