Which 17inch laptop has the best keyboard with most controllable backlit options?

I think if you look through the laptop lists they all say what sort of back lighting options are available.

As for 'the best keyboard' - what do you mean? I think typing experiences are quite subjective, what I think is the best might not be what is right for you for example.

What's the laptop going to be used for (for example) do you need a quiet keyboard or a one with a more satisfying tactical 'bump' when typing?

The optimus X 15.6" is vague and for a reason. It's a single zone Backlighting with zero effects, at least a large range of colours.
